And on the morning of the day before the wedding, Lindsey carefully gift-wrapped his set of Paige Publications books and drove to Scotty Anderson’s home in Castro Valley.
When Anderson admitted him to the apartment, Lindsey ceremoniously extended the brightly-wrapped parcel.
Anderson switched a match stick from one corner of his mouth to the other. He looked suspiciously at the package. He was wearing a pair of wrinkled, too-tight khakis and a plaid shirt. His sleeves were rolled halfway to the elbows and his hands were stuck in his pockets.
