* * * * The wedding was flawless. Credit Sloane for that. The groom’s daughter and her husband lived in a huge new house in Danville, surrounded by millionaire athletes and successful investors. The garden was filled with early-blooming roses (or maybe they’d been imported for the day). A rose-covered arbor had been decorated for the wedding party to stand beneath during the ceremony.
