A Beta's + Mate

The dream was too real for her, that even though she felt her body shiver by the cold still she wants to enjoy it, while refusing to open her eyes at the same time.  She smells all sorts of flowers in the air which made her even more drool in her sleeps. Then follow by the aseptic smell of carbolic acid which is very disturbing and has made her felt nausea in the head.  The bed became more uncomfortable that she turns from one side to another. “Uggh” after struggling of getting a good sleep she finally gives up and pull off the sheets while groaning, “damn it’s so cold” she shivers while her hair is falling everywhere covering her face.  She tried to get a clear view of her surrounding that's when it's  hit her, she’s in a hospital. She tried to think but as if she’s an eidetic, her memories slowly recall in her head.  Last night she almost died, key word here died not consumed by alcohol but stung by bees because she was too stubborn to leave the bees alone yesterday in her garden and has forgotten to apply an ointment to the infected side.   Pushing her hair off her face that’s when embarrassment occur she came face to face with “no way” she thought, the person she would never see again. The friend she used to know is now a total stranger with a baby in her arms, far more worst there were people standing and they were not just people they are a dreamer. Standing beside her with two other girls on the other side of the bed.  ‘Oh Lord If anybody think they look at her because she was stunning nope not this time. She was a witch who just awoken from her slum per and ready to cast a spell,” She thought.  She also thought on how she ended up in a ward filled with mothers and their babies. Indeed, she was hiding from her brother who also works here, she has plead more like begging one of the doctor who inspected her to move her here and keep it from him.  A voice filled with frustration and anger was heard near her bed, “where is she?” she knew that voice instantly. It was none other than her older brother Jesse, cursing under her breath she began to look for her stuff.  Opening up another curtains beside her there was a couple with their child “excuse me” she stood behind the curtains raising her hand to her mouth begging the patients and its wife to please continue their conversation normally.  “Where the hell is she?” she heard Jesse ask more like yelling to the nurse, “I can assure you sir she was here since this morning.” In that instant she felt bad for the poor nurse as she has nothing to do with it.  “What are you doing here?” by that voice it was her second older brother Hunter, the one who is a doctor in St John’s Hospital, the hospital she’s in now. “Are you kidding me, are you telling me that you didn’t know she was here almost dead while some stranger called me up regarding her state,” he sounds angry and she curses the person who told Jesse. Thinking that it was her queue to leave she open up the curtain right to creep out of there but another voice stopped her  “And where do you think you’re going young lady?” she was caught red handed except this time it was Cade her third older brother.  Argument stopped both Jesse and Hunter look at her with disbelief “this whole time” Hunter said. She rolls her eyes “yes I know, look I’m alive” she tries to laugh but seeing the serious look on their face “oh come on don’t I get a hug, your sister almost died and instead of an ICU, look wow I’m here in a Maternity Ward, how amazing is that” she said with sarcastic.  They all nodded in agreement and with relief they all hug her at the same time “wow when I saw Jesse heading here I thought wow I’m meeting my nephew, finally my sister has grown up.”  Her smile drops elbowing Cade in the stomach “now boys, let me go I’m suffocate here and I think Cade needs to breathe too.”  They pull away “well once you found your mate were definitely come back here, you know what I mean,” Jesse slaps him on the back of his head “ouch, was I wrong?” he frowns which made Hunter laugh. They were all  laughing together forgetting why her brothers should be mad at her.  Hunter made her sit on the hospital bed inspecting her if she’s still alright.  “Hoi” she held his hand “now don’t go doctor strange on me now” he huffs while her other two brothers chuckle. Hunter check her again before pulling her off the bed. “She’s good to go now, look after her” he turns around “and you I don’t want to see you in this hospital again.”  “Ouch”  She pretended to be hurt with her hand on her heart, Cade laugh while pushing his sister to go home. She turns left and come face with Jane again, this time the others are all looking at Jane's child. Indeed, that was her friend’s name, but that was a story for another time.  She just gave her a smile before following her brothers out the hospital, then there goes the pickering, the teasing from her brothers as if nothing ever happened 30 minutes ago, which made her smile and thought back on all their happy times.  Their parents were once respected head warriors of Nightfall Pack, they have been living there all her life until the Lycan Pack betray them wiping out almost every member of the pack including the alpha and his family. Jesse was there to pick up the pieces, he re-built their reputation and make the pack stands as of it is today.  She was brought back to present once they arrived home, Jesse sat her on the couch, while Cade fetch her a tea and toast with eggs, “thanks bro” she beams at him.  “So Veronica I’m leaving soon as I have some things to deal with at the pack” he said, “Cade will be here if you need help today” she frowns at him “I don’t need him to babysit”  “he’s not baby-sitting you, he’s just here if you need his help since Hunter and I are not around,” Jesse keeps going on about her and Cade setting out rules before going back to California where his pack.  After they said their goodbyes, she went back to her room and lay on the bed closing her eyes. Her phone rang, looking at the number she doesn’t know and ignore it.  The phone ring again, she finally answers “hello”  “hello umm Miss Veronica Hazel Knight” she looks at her phone again “I’m sorry you must” but the person cut her off  “sorry Miss just calling your sister needs help”  “look I don’t have a sister” she was about to turn it off when she heard voices from the background  “Stella” someone calls, she hasn’t heard that name since 2 years ago. It has been a long time even with her other friends.  “Tell her it’s me Stella Hewitt” she shouted from the background. She asks him for the location, which in return he gave it to her, once Cade was gone to his friends’ party she hail a cab and gave him the written direction.
