“Are you ready for tomorrow?” asks Jesse.
“Ready as I’ll ever be,” she answers.
However, when she thought of him, she couldn’t help herself but ask Jesse again.
“Who’s going to be there?”
“The council and other Alpha” he diverts his gaze to Veronica.
“Is he-” she wanted to ask, but Jesse, interjected with a simple reply “Mason will be there too.”
She deeply breathes in and reaches out for Jesse’s hand. She needed closure and comfort from her brother. “Don’t worry, he won’t hurt you”, he tried to assure her. Deep down inside, she doesn’t doubt her brother and she knows that Mason won’t hurt her physically.
