“Thank God for small favors, but even that process could take a couple more weeks. In the meantime who’s running the country? Janet Rood? Layton is definitely not. Diddly-s**t is coming out of that office.”
“The man we saw is capable of more.”
“Yes. He was well enough to work smarter. One of Layton’s major strengths is his ability to delegate. Some of his critics even suggested he went too far with it, that he shirked responsibility.”
“Either way,” Paul said, “the point is an executive prone to delegating is likely to dump more, not less during times like this.”
“Exactly, and the President was not in a state of delirium to account for his flub about his neighborhood or the phony McGuire incident.”
“A brilliant ploy, I have to admit,” Paul said.
