WEEK 3-How To Write A Beginning-Stary Writing Camp-Thistle

670 Words
King and Queen Loring held each otherʻs handʻs while tethered to posts in a small clearing in the forest. Knowing their end was near, the Queen hid her daughter from the dangers they were currently facing. She prayed to the Fairy Goddess to have mercy on her baby girl. She fed her child from her breast and rocked her child to sleep in the hopes that the child was quietly sleeping long enough not to be discovered. They awaited their fate and prayed that their death would be swift. The deities have gathered in the clearing. Hushed by the sadness of having to execute the Royal Couple bringing an end to the lineage of the once-mighty Loring line. The deities consisting of a total of 9 were for the most part peaceful, except for a couple who could be considered explosive at best but still held the royals in high regard. That is until they waged a war against the Gods. Becoming greedy and blinded by the power the Royal couple rose up against the Gods in an attempt to capture, kill and harness the power each God possessed. Profusely unmatched against the Godʻs the couple was captured and thus facing their demise.  The God, Cinder is the God of Fire. Possessing the ability to bring forth the magma from the center of the earth and destroy everything in its path while still being able to create new lands.  The Goddess, Gale is the Goddess of snow. Residing at the highest elevation her snows bring pure waters to the forests below. The Goddess, Dew is the Goddess of the mist. Surrounding and enveloping fairyland with the promise of hidden magic, The Goddess, Sea-Ana is the Goddess of the ocean. Possessing the ocean and all it wonders and powers.   The God, Shine is the God of the sun. Having the power to give light or hide it. To speed up the day and force the night.  The God, Greenwood is the God of the forest and one the fairies has the closest relationship to. Always ensuring a safe habitat for the fairies and all animals with it.  The God, Affinity is the God of peace. Always look for the good in others. Always searching for the ever-elusive peaceful world. The God, Animus is the God of war. Whoʻs answer to all conflict is an act of war.  But there is another deity, one not mentioned but known to the memories of the elders. The Swapling. A shapeshifter with a lust for trickery and bloodlust unmatched. This deity only comes to the surface when conjured. But once released hard to capture and suppress. Can this shapeshifter be tamed?   As the execution begins, the Royals show no ill feeling toward the deities before them, knowing their actions caused their downfall. They mention nothing of their daughter in the hopes that she will again bring forth a new nation of Loring royals, fresh and untarnished by the transgressions of her parents.  But, unbeknownst to Queen Loring is that her daughter was already taken to the protection of the deep forest by Cyra, an Elder whose job would be to raise the child and get her ready to confront the very deities who took her parents' lives. The tiny child cries out for her mother while Cyra prepares some milk for her. A little spitfire she is, kicking and screaming while her little body shakes with anger. Cyra gently grabs the babe and feeds her through an udder made from the skin of a goat. The child hungrily accepts the milk while still flailing her arms in anger.  "YOU little lady, are such a Thistle! I think thatʻs what Iʻll name you, Thistle. Do you like that name Thistle?" She asks the child and she starts to calm. Looking up at Cyra after her feeding and feeling content, she flashes her emerald green eyes behind her blonde mane, smiles, stretches, burps then farts.
