WEEK 2 - Designing Characters - Stary Writing Camp - Thistle

Step #1- Background

Thistle came from a long line of mighty fairies. The only child of King and Queen Loring, her story began in turmoil and death. Her ancestors ruled with love and compassion, but when her father took his rightful place at King things changed. King Loring felt love and compassion was a weak trait that could cause his kingdom to fall. So he became harsh and ruled with an iron fist. His rule came to an end when he waged a war against the dieties and tried to kill them, they were executed. Thistle was just a baby at the time and her mother hid her in a crevice of a cliff ledge overlooking the ocean. An elder of a nearby village would raise her for greatness. 

Step #2 - Personality

As a child Thistle loved everything nature and would often find herself engrossed in itʻs protection. As she grew, her obsession also grew which led Thistle into battles. Trained by the elders of her village, Thistle became a mighty fairy warrior in her own right. 

Step #3 - Physical Features

Thistleʻs long blonde hair with soft curls reached past her butt. Seldom allowing it to flow freely, Thistleʻs signature inverted French Braid that wound diagonally from above her left temple to below her right ear and down the front was more her style to contain her thick mane.  Her 5ʻ7" stature held her curves in all the right places.  And her emerald green eyes highlighted by her sunkissed skin made her beauty unsurpassed.

Step #4 - Social Relationships

Cyra an elder of Finnley Village found Thistle and raised her. Cyra knew Thistle was special and along with the other elders of Finnley, trained Thistle for greatness.

Lark and Lawson, Thistleʻs twin best friends from the neighboring village of Alvareen Township. Connected at the hips these three are almost inseparable, knowingly going into battle with Thistle for the protection of the island's forests.

The Deities, Gods and Goddesses that occupy the islands. Who stripped and executed Thistle's parents for treason against them. 

The Swapling, a menacing shapeshifter with a lust for treachery, trickery, and bloodlust unmatched. This deity only comes to the surface when conjured. But once released hard to capture and harder to suppress.
