Chapter 1: Part1
“Amiraaa! Be quick, please! It’s already 7.30! Your friends have been waiting for ages!”
The loud voice of her older sister, Kak Ira, echoed from the front door, bouncing off the walls of the house. Amira, who was still scrambling to tuck her shirt in and adjust her school tie at the same time, let out a hurried groan.
“Coming!! Just a second!” she shouted back, grabbing her heavy school bag and swinging it over her shoulder in one quick motion. She dashed out of her room, running fast down the stairs and through the hallway, her socks slipping slightly on the polished floor as she hurried toward the entrance.
When she finally stepped out of the house gate, she saw Alia and Farhana standing there, looking like they had been waiting forever. With a big, bright grin on her face, she raised her hand as high as she could, waving enthusiastically like she hadn’t kept them waiting at all.
“Yo g**g!”
She didn’t even get to finish her greeting properly before—SLAP!
A firm, loud slap landed right on her back, hard enough to make her stumble forward a little.
“Ouch! Kak Iraaa, that hurts!” Amira yelped, bending down and quickly moving away a few steps from her sister, rubbing the spot that was now definitely going to turn red.
Kak Ira crossed her arms over her chest, looking unimpressed and very much like a responsible older sibling. “Your friends have already been waiting for nearly 20 minutes. Have you ever considered that maybe they have better things to do than stand around waiting for you?”
Amira straightened up, fixing her collar with a cheeky, unbothered expression. “Pfft, they’re my friends. It’s up to me how I’m gonna treat them, right? They know I love them anyway.”
Before she could even finish her sentence—SLAP!
This time, the hit came from her side, even harder than the first one.
“Ouchh! Farhana... seriously, that hurts!” Amira cried out again, turning to look at her best friend who was now standing right next to her, wearing a smirk on her face.
Farhana tilted her head, looking at Amira with that famous sharp and playful glint in her eyes. “Heh. You’re also my friend. So according to your own logic... it’s up to me how I’m gonna treat you, right?”
Amira blinked, then burst out laughing, shaking her head at how easily Farhana had turned her own words against her. She leaned in closer, putting both hands on her chest in a dramatic, sweet gesture.
“I’m sorry, my dear friend! I promise I’ll be faster next time. Come here, I’ll give you a kiss as an apology,” she said jokingly, puckering her lips and moving closer to Farhana’s cheek.
Farhana immediately pushed her face away with her hand, making a disgusted face while Alia just stood beside them, giggling quietly at their usual antics.
“Alright, alright! Enough playing around!” Kak Ira interrupted, stepping between them and pointing toward the road leading to the school. “On the count of three, I don’t want to see any of you three standing here anymore. Go to school already before you all get late for assembly. One... Two...”
She didn’t even get to say three.
The three girls grabbed their bags tight and ran as fast as they could down the road, their laughter echoing behind them as they waved back at Kak Ira, who stood shaking her head with a small smile on her face.
Usually, girls their age—around 13 or 14 years old—tended to act a bit more mature, trying to be reserved or shy, especially in public. But these three were completely different. They were loud, they were messy, and they were unapologetically themselves. They were kind and polite to everyone they met, but they never changed who they were or pretended to be someone else just to impress people. Because of that genuine, warm personality, it was almost impossible for anyone to actually hate them. They were the kind of friends everyone wished they had.
Amira was the loudest and boldest of them all. Outspoken and full of energy, she was active in almost every sport at school, always running around or participating in competitions. She was friendly to every single person she met, never looking down on anyone, and always ready to stand up for her friends no matter what.
Alia was a bit quieter and more shy compared to the other two. She didn’t talk as much, but when she did, everyone listened. She was the smartest and most logical one in the group, always thinking things through and coming up with sensible solutions whenever the other two got themselves into trouble.
Farhana was known as the brutal one—blunt, straightforward, and never afraid to say exactly what was on her mind. She was also physically the strongest among them, always the one to carry the heavy bags or protect her friends when needed. Her words might be sharp sometimes, but her loyalty was sharper.
Together, they were the perfect trio. And little did they know, this ordinary school day was about to turn into the most confusing, hilarious, and heart-fluttering adventure of their lives.
