I screamed as I threw my wine glass at the corner of my office. It quickly shattered, and the remaining wine spilled on the floor. "Ciara! You startled me! What happened?!" my mother quickly ran towards me with a look of concern evident on her face. "That Montgomery again, he is getting on my nerves!" I hissed as I aggressively brushed my hair with my hand. "The investor that I pursued for three months? She withdrew her investment just now. And that's because of Montgomery, I think he used his charms again to snatch my investor, Ms. Johannes." I stated. My mother tapped my shoulder, then gently held my chin up. "Don't let your anger eat you up, move onto your plan B," she suggested. I sighed. "This is the third time now; I let him get my other investors because I knew they could be easily replaced. But, Ms. Johannes? She is one of the great investors in this country, I can't just let Montgomery win this time." I fumed in anger. "What are you planning to do, darling?" Mom asks me softly while caressing my back, making me calm down. "Tell me if there's anything I can help," she added. "Since my identity is hidden, I can use it to get close to Montgomery's heir. I will lure him and leave him with nothing." I smirked. It wasn't the plan, but I had no other choice. I faced my mother. "Can you help me with it, Mom? I heard they are still looking for a secretary for Rhys Montgomery, I want to apply for it." I asked desperately. "I'm fine with it, darling. But we still need your father's consent. Being in their territory is quite dangerous, we can't just risk you, my precious daughter." she replied. I nodded. "But it's the only way that I think will work. If I get close to him, I will be aware of his plans and I will report it to Dad immediately. It's like I will be a spy but secretary in disguise." I stated my plan. "Just help me hide my background, make me look like an ordinary fresh graduate girl trying to apply to that so-called powerful company," I added. "Okay, I will tell your father about this and try to convince him." I walked towards my swivel chair and threw myself on it. Mom already left my office and went to call Dad. I am now all alone, trying to calm myself. I think my mother is still hesitant to agree with my suggestion, but if they can't help me, I will do it myself; this is my business, after all. I glanced at the door when my secretary walked in, she brought someone to clean the mess I made by throwing my wine glass. "Ms. Winchester, your investor Ms. Johannes called earlier and said—" "Yeah, she withdrew her investment. I am aware of that. Now, do I still have a meeting to attend?" I cut her off, my blood starts to boil again just hearing that topic. She opened her tablet and shook her head after. "No, ma'am. Your schedule is free this whole afternoon," she reported. After cleaning my office, the other woman walked out of my office; I told my secretary to stay and discussed my plan; I made her do my fake résumé and other documents so I could apply for the secretary position. I heard that he is picky when it comes to his secretary, up until now he still can't have a permanent one. I think that's because he wants someone to please him and be with him during work hours at the same time. What a real jerk. After an hour, my documents are done well. I thanked her and of course, gave her a bonus for her work. I urged her to do anything she wanted since I would now focus on my application. I also received a message from my father saying that he'll let me do anything I want as long as it won't affect me and my company negatively. My younger brother, Cian, is now in charge of managing my company while I am doing my plan. Of course, I will still check on it from time to time without getting caught. "Wait for me, Rhys. I will make sure to destroy you in every way I can." I whispered while looking at his picture on my desktop.
