Promised ruler

Now the Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.”

I Samuel 16:1 NKJV

David was tending his father's sheeps when he saw visitors entering his father's house. "Should I go home?" David asked the Lord and He felt a very distinct voice. "Wait" then David waited and there in the midst of the field he saw a fox. He picked out a stone on the field and was ready to throw on his sling but before he could throw it a servant came up to him and said that his father's guest the prophet Samuel request his presence. He looked at the fox in the field but it was gone so he went to his father's house and gave the staff to the servant that was to replace him. As he went inside the house Samuel came to him right away saying in front of his family that he will annoint David and David submitting to Samuel accept the oil that was poured on his head and goosebumps he felt afterwards. Samuel left the house having peace in his heart knowing that God has finally chosen the rightful ruler of Israel.
