It Stays Between Us

Stubborn ass bloody biker! Why the hell is he f*****g holding back on taking what he wants? He is the only biker I have ever known who won't take what he really wants. When I first started noticing the looks they gave each other when they thought the other wasn't looking, I was annoyed. Then I noticed the lust and longing in both their eyes and that pissed me off. When they tried to avoid each other, and it didn't work, they made sure they were never in a room alone together or stood near each other. I thought something had happened between them, and I was f*****g livid. Lisa, Knives' old lady, realized something was wrong and told me to talk about it or grow up, so I told her everything. She left and came back with Knives, Hades Road Captain and they both explained that everyone had noticed what I had but nothing had happened between Hades and Aspen. They also told me that it was clear they both felt something for each other, but they were both making sure nothing could happen between them. We sat and spoke for hours and listening to them, I realized that Hades and Aspen really were perfect for each other and I would not be the reason they don't get together. Yes, Hades is my Uncle, but I see him more like a dad and Aspen is my best friend and I want them both happy, and they can only be happy together.
"Lilly wait", Rage called from behind me as I walked into Hades' office and sat down on the sofa.
"What Rage" I snap.
"Hey don't get pissed at me" he said, closing the door and sitting in Hades' chair behind his desk.
"Sorry", I reply, because I know it's not his fault. I'm pissed pf.
"Look, Hades will get his head out of his ass sooner rather than later" he says.
"Sooner than you think, I hope" I mumble.
"What are you up to? Playing a little matchmaking?" he asks.
"What?" I ask.
"Lilly, I have known you your whole life. I know when you are up to something. So spill" he says, leaning back in the chair.
"Fine, I might have told Aspen it was okay to use dad's room to shower and change, and I was going to find away to get him up to his room," I mumbled.
"Dad not Uncle now?" he asks.
"It feels right. I've wanted to call him dad for years, but I was worried he wouldn't want me to, but when I called Hades' dad outside, the look on his face, I realized I was worried about nothing," I said.
"He's waited years for you to call him dad," Rage says.
"He is my dad" I replied.
"So setting them both up?" he says, changing the subject, and I'm great full.
"Stupid plan, I know, I just hoped" I say.
"We all hope Lilly. They both want each other, and I've been trying to get Hades to make a move for months. How were you planning on getting him up to his room before she finished her shower?" he asks.
"Oh, that would have been easy. Aspen loves her showers and can stay there for at least an hour. I would have found a way to get him up there, but he did that all by himself," I say, smiling and hoping my plan to get them alone works.
"Are you sure you're okay if they do get together?" he asks.
"I am now. You and other people might think I'm crazy, wanting my dad and best friend to be together, but when I realized they are perfect for each other, I knew I couldn't be the reason they didn't get together. As long as I don't hear or see them f*****g I am good" I laugh.
"They are lucky to have you," he says.
"No, I'm lucky to have them. Hades gave me a family, love, and a dad. Aspen gave me a friend for life. When we met in college, I thought she would be like everyone else when you guys came to visit and use me to get to one of you, but she wasn't like that. Yeah, she fit right in with us, but not to use me she fit in for me. Does that make sense?" I say.
"Yeah it does, she is loyal to you and not after using us to get to one of us. We all see her as a sister, and she sees us as her brothers as well, except her and Hades. They see each other as more," he says.
"When she first met everyone, I think she just wanted the family she never really had," I say.
"Hades saw her differently when she turned 18 and moved here. Before then, she was just your best friend," he says.
"I know that's when I started noticing the changes in them both” I respond.
"Okay, now serious talk" he said, and I raised an eyebrow at him.
"That wasn't a serious talk?" I ask.
"Nope" he says, and I want to see what he has to say.
"What did you mean when you say Aspen will need Hades and the club?" he asks.
"Oh erm" I stumbled on what to say. I know I said it, but I was hoping no one would pick up on it.
"Don't even think of lying to me Lilly. Soon Aspen is going to be our lady Prez and if something or someone is coming for her, Prez and the club need to know, now talk" he says.
"This stays between us for now, Rage, please. Aspen has everything under control. When she doesn't, I promise I will tell dad myself" I say. I really don't want to tell anyone, but Rage is right and if Aspen can't deal with it, then dad and the club need to know so they can help.
"Is she in danger?" Rage asks.
"No, nothing like that" I reply, well at least I don't think she is, but I won't tell him that, not just yet.
"Fine between us for now. What's going on?" he asks.
"Aspen was never close to her family. Her mum left when she was 6 and her dad treated her like s**t. Shortly after her sister fell pregnant, their dad bought them an apartment in the city, paid all the bills and left them to it. As soon as Aspen turned 18, her sister took off, signing all her legal rights to Mia over to Aspen," I say.
"I already know all of that, as does everyone else here," he says.
"Trust me, there is a lot you don't know and won't yet. Anyway, Aspen's dad never bothered her from the day he dumped her in the apartment up until four months ago." I say and there is a hell of a lot about Aspen and her life that no one here knows, but it's not my place to say anything. She is not a danger to the MC, so I'm saying s**t about it.
"And what does the fucker want?" Rage asks.
"Promise this stays between us Rage, promise me" I ask well beg.
"I've already said so" he replies.
"Say I promise" I say.
"Fine I promise" He says.
"Okay. Her dad wants to merge his company with another and if he doesn't, he will lose his company by the end of next month," I say.
"6 weeks okay. So how is that anything to do with Aspen and how is she supposed to help the fucker" Rage asks.
"The owner of the other company is saying if they merged, her dad ain't putting s**t in apart from a failing company, so it's not worth it unless he has more to offer" I say, hoping he can read between the lines.
"Still not seeing how that is Aspen's problem," he said, looking confused.
"f**k sake Rage, Marriage! Her dad has told the other fucker he can marry his daughter if he saves the company. The wedding is set for five weeks and the merge in six weeks" I grit out.
"Oh f**k no" he snaps, standing and storming out of the room.
"Rage, she is not going through with it, and you promised me," I yelled, running after him, but he just ignored me and carried on walking.
"What the hell have I done? I'm sorry, Aspen" I mumbled to myself as I followed after Rage.
