----Dinner----
***Alec’s POV***
Unsurprisingly, my pack was shocked by the fact that I was on a date. I never gave a girl a second glance before even though I had many opportunities to date. I wanted to wait for my mate and Goddess, she was beyond my wildest dreams.
Pulling the chair out for her at our private table, she sat down as my wolf’s desire clouded my mind for a moment before I pushed it back down. She looked incredible in that dress and it was hard to control myself from just wanting to keep her in my arms all night long.
Sitting down, I brushed my hair back and smiled before looking at the menu.
“They seem to know you here. Do you come here often?” Lanie asked softly, tilting her head in curiosity.
“Yeah. I own this restaurant and various others as well. I also own a few hospitals since my pack are natural healers.”
“That’s incredible! Do you have healing powers as well?” Her eyes glittered.
“Actually, no. Alphas of the Newmoon pack are the only ones that don’t get healing powers. We get strength and power in exchange. Ironic, right?” I grinned to her laugh.
“So you get to be the muscle, huh?” She mused but I saw her eyes trace along the muscles that showed in my suit.
“I mean, it probably would help being strong for various other things…” I trailed off to let her mind wander with a seductive smirk. The things I wanted to do to her if she accepted me as her mate. I promised I’d be a gentleman though until she made the first moves. I cared about her too much to let my wolf’s mating needs cloud my judgement.
A blush creeped across her cheeks and she bit her bottom lip. “Alec… what are our plans after dinner?”
“I was going to leave that up to you. We could go back to my private mansion or to my pack mansion… I could kiss you softly and bring you home. It’s completely up to you.”
The blush deepened and I could tell she was weighing her options. I could sense a bit of arousal from her, making my eyes flicker pure black again.
The moment was interrupted by a server coming by to get our drink orders.
I secretly wanted to growl at the moment being interrupted but I didn’t. Lanie’s mind was probably going a mile a minute with my suggestions anyway.
“Lanie, what would you like to drink, my love?” I smiled sweetly, knowing full well that her mind was preoccupied.
“Huh? What?” Her focus came back as she looked embarrassed. Goddess, she looked so cute.
“Your drink, my goddess.” I chuckled.
“Oh, I’ll take a glass of Riesling, please.”
“Actually, can you bring over our best bottle of Riesling and two glasses, please?” I smiled, my eyes locked on Lanie which caused her to blush.
“Of course, Alpha.” The server walked away but mind linked with me.
“You are sure trying to impress this girl, Alpha. She is a very lucky girl. Is she your mate?” The server asked curiously.
“I’m hoping she will accept me as her mate. I’ve already fallen so deeply in love with her already. She’s my goddess.” My voice was full of love and I heard a chuckle on the other end.
“We will do everything we can to make your date a pleasurable one, Alpha.” With that, the mind link turned off.
I truly loved and respected my pack. They always worked as a team and I was honored to be their protector.
The server came back with a bottle of the finest Riesling, opening it with a pop, and pouring it into the glasses.
“Complimentary appetizer for our Alpha and his lady.” He bowed respectfully before he set down some raw oysters in their shell.
“Oh! These look delicious.” Lanie’s eyes widened in awe.
Giving the server our orders, he walked off to get the order to the kitchen.
We ate the oysters, making small talk, but my eyes just couldn’t be peeled away from her. Her voice was like the sweetest tune, played by the finest instrument in the world. My love for her grew like a garden of fast growing periwinkle, threatening to overgrow its garden fences.
Our entrees arrived as we ate. Her eyes kept glancing up towards me while I grinned in response. Each time our eyes met, it was like a fresh surge of electricity travelled down my bones, filling me with new life. I needed her in my life.
A large chocolate lava cake with melting vanilla ice cream was set in front of us as Lanie gasped.
“This looks like heaven on a plate!” Her smile was infectious as I couldn’t help but smile as well.
“Shall we dig in, my queen?” I handed her a spoon as she nodded eagerly.
“If I didn’t know any better, it seems that my mate has a sweet tooth. I guess it would explain why she is sweeter than sugar.” I smirked, knowing how corny that sounded and was answered with a groan.
“That was SO lame, Alec.” Laughter erupted from her cute and plump lips which caused me to laugh along with her.
I loved that I could be myself around her as well. I loved that she seemed to appreciate the real me. I haven’t felt like I could just relax and be myself around everyone. I always had to be the strong leader to my pack. To her, I could just be Alec.
Finishing the meal, the server dropped off some mints and I paid the bill. I noticed a blush on Lanie’s cheeks and wondered what she was thinking.
Getting up, I went over to pull her chair back to let her stand up. Her red dress shimmered as she got up, taking my hand in hers. I noticed her biting her bottom lip with a sultry look in her eyes.
“So, what would you like to do now, my love?” I smiled, awaiting her response.
“Can we go back… to your private mansion?” She giggled as I unconsciously let out a seductive growl.
“Are you sure, my queen? There could be a lot that could happen there.” My tone was teasing and suggestive.
“Oh… I know.” With a wink, she started to walk towards the door.
“You coming, loverboy? I’m ready to continue our fun~” Her voice was alluring.
Practically tripping over myself, I followed my seductive siren.
