CHAPTER FOUR

DEMTREY’S POV:

“he’s a wolf’, Ethan said the moment six of us got to our hideout in the packhouse

“and a beta at that”, Erik added

I sat down and was replaying the whole incident in my head, “he even knew my name”

“But how?”, Catherine said

“I don’t know but he mind-linked me and said, ‘stay away from her Wolf”, I said

“This is very creepy”, Bella said as she held Erik.

Just then I realized Benny hasn’t said anything since we got back from school. He has been sitting on the chair and staring off to space. I looked at my friends and I noticed they were looking at Benny.

“What is wrong, babe?”, Catherine asked concerned as she sat beside her mate.

“oh, it’s nothing. I’m fine”, Benny said as he forced a smile on his face.

“You don’t seem okay dude. What’s wrong?”, Erik stated

Benny looked at me before he said anything. I gave him a go-ahead sensing that something is wrong. None of my friends ask for my permission before doing anything, especially mot Benny and Ethan.

“it’s Arianna”, he said and I became confused

“what about her?”, Ethan asked

“Nothing. I just have this intense feeling that I know her. I feel like we have met before but our relationship was cut short. Just look at our similar piercing blue eyes and black curly hair”, Benny said as he ran his palm on his face.

And that’s when I realized he was right. His eyes were just as piercing blue as hers. And they have the same black curly hair except Arianna’s was way longer.

“I feel Benny’s right”, Ethan said. We all gave Ethan a questioning look.

“c’mon. you guys know that as werewolves we’ll always have a connection to someone we know. Our wolf will always keep us attached to each other”, Ethan said

He was right. If his wolf is telling him he knows Arianna, then he must know her.

“Maybe you are her brother?”, Bella said snapping all of us from our thoughts.

“Na, I doubt that. Both of my parents are dead, remember? Demitrey’s father is the one who brought me up. Besides, I have Alpha blood. There’s no way she is my sister except she’s also an Alpha which we all know is impossible”, Benny reasoned

He got up and said he was going to work out. Catherine followed him and soon enough, I was left alone with my thoughts.

ARIANNA’S POV

I walked into the cafeteria with Dave. As I made my way towards our regular table, I smelt Demitrey’s lavender and vanilla spray. I was getting too addicted to that smell. I spotted Derik and went over to him.

“nice dress”, Avery said.

“thanks’, I said as I hugged Derik. I was putting on a yellow dress which was tight my bust to my waist and then turned to a flair up to my knee and topped it up with a flat blue shoe.

Just as I sat down beside Derik, Catherine came up to me.

“Why don’t you sit with us today?”, she asked

I looked at my friends and saw that they are tensed.

“No. I will like to sit with my friends today”, I said with a smile.

“Please. We already saved a seat for you”, she said as she pointed to their table. They have indeed saved a seat for me.

“Thank you, but I will love to sit with my friends”, I said again.

“It’s okay Ari, you can sit with them”, Derik said with the rest agreeing with him.

“But…..”, I started

“Come on Ariana, they said you can sit with us”. Catherine urged.

“No, I will like to sit here”, I insisted.

Catherine gave me pleading puppy dog eyes.

“Go on babe, we’ll manage”, Dave said and the rest nodded.

I got up from my seat between Derik and Avery and gave Catherine a small smile. I didn’t like the attention I was getting from the Wolf gang. I had this feeling that if I don’t stay away from them, I’ll get into severe trouble. I walked over to the Wolf’s table and sat beside Ethan and opposite Benny. Demitrey was staring at me the entire time. His face held too many emotions: love, happiness, peace, nervousness, confusion and determination.

“Hey girl”, Ethan said as he pulled me into a hug. I felt myself relaxing in his arms and instantly hugged him back with a girlish grin on my face.

“Hey boy”, I responded earning laughter from everyone except Demitrey. We began eating and talking.

“so Ariana, why don’t you tell us about yourself. Any siblings?” Erik asked as he ate.

“Well, I don’t remember much from my childhood till I turned 2” I started. The wolf gang-I really need to stop calling them that- looked at me with confusion.

“my mom said I was born in California,” I said, this time Benny stared at me but I didn’t know why so I continued.

“Then when I saw two, we moved here” just as I said that the bell rang.

“Oh, I have to go,” I said as I got up.

“But you still have five minutes before the class starts.” Bella pleaded.

“Yeah, I know but Derik will be waiting for me. We have something to do” I said and Demitrey’s eyes flashed gold again and instantly turned back to his warm green.

“Sorry I have to go,” I said and went over to my friends feeling someone staring at me.

It was finally time to go home. Derik, my friends and more than half of the school had gone home but I had to stay behind for extra chemistry class. Just as I made my way to my car, I saw the wolf gang leaning on my car.

“Hey girl,” Ethan said.

“Hello boy” I responded. “Why are you guys leaning on my car?”

They all shrugged

“Ok, can you move? I need to get home. My stomach has been calling me” I said dramatically.

“Well thank the moon, we are going to have lunch together,” Catherine said as she did a jazz hand with Bella.

“Who are we,” I asked suspiciously.

“Seven of us of course silly” Ethan said as he dramatically slammed his forehead.

“Sorry to burst your bubble drama queen, but I won’t be able to come with you,” I said with my hands on my waist.

“Ouch……..did you just call me a drama queen?” Ethan said faking hurt.

“Sorry dude,” Erik said as he slapped his back. All of them laughed at this exchange.

“Can we go?” Demitrey asked. I turned and saw him besides his car starring at me.

“He’s such a handsome young man,” The voice in my head said.

“Please Ariana, come with us” Demitrey begged me. I found it hard to refuse so I agreed. I was about to get into my car but Demitrey held my hand and led me towards his car. I got into his car and we drove off.
