CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Demitrey's POV:

After Benny's mom had invited us in, we all entered, although Benny didn't look so happy about it. We all went into the living room. I could begin to see signs of Benny all over the house, signs that were not there the last time we visited. Beside the couch, on the floor, is his electric guitar. On the side stool, is a picture frame of his beside Arianna's. Even his scent was already all over. As I was inspecting, I noticed that Arianna's scent was dormant in the living room, like she hasn't been there for her while. I could feel her presence, but it was weak.

"Please sit. We weren't expecting you guys. I'll get Aaron", Benny's mom said with a soft voice. It was clear she didn't want my parents around but she was being nice because of us." Aaron, can you come down for a sec, we have guests", she called out.

"Coming babe", I heard him reply. A few seconds later, he appeared before us. When he noticed we were the guests, his face morphed into a completely angry one. If looks could kill, we all would have been dead

"What are you doing in my house?", he all but growled at us.

"Aaron, calm down", his wife said as she went over to calm him down.

"Calm down, Bev? How? They are the ones that practically ruined our lives", he said in anger.

"Darling. I understand you are angry at them but don't take your anger out on the kids", she said.

"Mom and dad, I haven't had the chance to introduce you to my friends yet. This is my best friend, Demitrey, his cousin, Ethan, then Eric, his mate, Bella and Catherine", I heard Catherine whine at the introduction, although I felt my heart swell in my chest when he had introduced me to them as his best friend. It means our friendship hasn't been ruined completely. There's still hope for us.

"Nice to meet you guys official. Ben talks about you a lot." His mom said, while his dad just nodded his head. He is still not in support of us.

"Catherine? You must be his mate. I saw you the last time", his mom said as she approached Catherine. I noticed Catherine signed when his mom acknowledged her even though Benny still looks furious. Just as she was about to hug Catherine, Benny stopped her.

"Why don't we all eat? We were just about to eat anyways", he said as he took his mother's hand and led the way to the dining. Catherine's face fell even more. I began to feel sorry for her, but at this point, I have my own mate to think about. I still haven't seen her. I was expecting them to call her down to eat, but they didn't. They served the food and were about to dig in when I asked,

"Where's Arianna? I still haven't seen her. Wouldn't she be joining us?" I noticed that the three of them looked sad at my question like they didn't want to talk about it.

"She wouldn't be joining us", Mr. Bluemoon said with no space for argument.

    The rest of the meal was spent in very awkward silence. No one could say anything. Benjamin was completely ignoring Catherine, while Catherine was trying everything to get his attention. Eric and Bella were silently doing their lovey-dovey. Ethan kept looking around like he was expecting Arianna to show up anytime. He has been completely miserable without her. My parents looked completely out of place. They seemed very uncomfortable and were not making any eye contact with Mr. and Mrs. Bluemoon. They have barely touched their meal. Mr. Bluemoon kept throwing glares at my parents. It was very obvious he didn't want them in his house. Benjamin, his dad and his mom were occasionally talking to each other. He had a genuine smile on his face. I have never seen him this happy before. He even looks happier than when he found his mate. He kept trying to add me and Ethan into their conversations. It just showed how much he still values our friendship. Once we were done eating, we helped Benny's mom clean the dishes.

"Hey, do you guys want to see my room?", Benny asked 

"Sure", Eric, Ethan and I said at the same time.

"I want to see it too", Bella said as she stood up.

"Boys only Bells", Benny teased. Bella playful glared at him. He turned towards his parents and excised himself. I noticed his mom looking between him ad Catherine like she can feel the tension between them. 

    He led us to his room. Once we got into his room, we couldn't help but gasp. He has been here for only two weeks yet it looks like he has been here his whole life. His bed was at the center of the room. It was blue. The walls were painted in light green. There was a black rug on the floor. At the left side of the room were two doors. One leading to the bathroom and the other leading to the walk-in closet. On the right side of the room were two bookshelves. One was filled with books while the other was filled with different PlayStations, videogames, music CDs, board games etc. Opposite his bed was a huge flat screen tv. There were two side cupboards beside his bed. Close to the door was a huge black couch. In front of it was a small table with two controllers on it. On the wall were some posters. On the bookshelves were some of the pictures we have all taken together. He also had pictures of his parents and sister there too, but they were not family pictures. Seems like they haven't taken any yet. On top of his bed was a closed book. It looked like a handwritten book. On the cover of the book was written, "HISTORY OF BLUEMOON CLAN". Seems like he is already learning the history of his original clan. Beside the couch, was his reading table. It had an empty medium-sized picture frame. It looks like he wants to use it for his family picture. I noticed that there was not a single picture frame of him and Catherine up. Catherine seemed to have noticed too. All in all, his room was amazing,

"Wow", we all said.
