Our Story: Connections

I woke up happy and excited. I decided to cook breakfast for me and my mom. She was shock to see that there is already food on our table. She jokingly asked if I need something from her. I just laugh and told her that its for nothing and I just want to cook for her today. We talked about our plans for the day. After eating our breakfast, I volunteered to wash the dishes. I kissed mom goodbye when she left for work.

I still have time before our meet up. So I prepare the clothes that I'm going wear. I chose the black loose crop top and paired it with a boyfriend jeans. I matched it with my white Nike Air Force '01. Everything is ready so I decided to check my phone first for any updates from the two girls.

I was awaken by a phone call from Jane. She is asking where I am now.

Shoot! I fell asleep.

I told her that I accidentally fall asleep and I am on my way now. I immediately took a shower and change clothes. Good thing I prepared everything earlier. After almost an hour, I am now walking towards the shop. I saw Bella and Jane waving at me from our favorite spot.

"Hey, I'm sorry for being late. I woke up early but I fell asleep in our couch while browsing my phone."

"It's okay, Jane arrived thirty minutes late than the agreed time as well." Bella jokingly said.

"Sorry too. I have to finish something important today. I was so engross that I didn't notice the time." Jane replied.

"It's okay. Now, let's not waste our time with all your "sorries" let's decide where we should go next." Bella's energy is somehow attracting my mood.

We decided to go in the famous cafe that we saw in an IG post. We tried their specialties and it was really good. The ambiance is so cozy as well. After finishing our meal we went to a make up shop and tried their new products. We really enjoyed hanging out with each other. We are laughing the whole time. After doing everything in our list, we decided to go home.

Mom is already at home watching television when I arrived. I told her everything that we did the whole day over dinner. She also shared what happened on her day. I remember the gift I bought for her.

"Mom! Hold on, I have something for you!" Then I get the pink paper bag in our couch.

"What is that?" She curiously asked.

"Open it!" I am excited for her to see it.

"Is this a bribe Andie? Did you do something wrong?" She said smiling.

"No mom, it's just a small gift for all your sacrifices. I know how hard it is for you to raise me without dad. And I cannot pay you with anything in this world for that. But I promise that I will do my best to give you a comfortable life when I finished my college." Tears started to flow in my eyes

"Oh my baby! You don't have to be like that. I am your mother and I am more than happy doing everything I can for you. You are the source of my energy and positivity in life. All I want is the best for you sweetheart." Mom started to cry as well.

"This is a lovely dress. I will wear it at work."

"Do you like it?!" I asked.

"Of course baby. I love it!"

We hug each other. I asked mom if I can sleep with her in her room. She agreed and we slept together.

This day was epic. I had a lot of fun. I felt loved. I felt belonged. I felt important. I'm very thankful for having mom and my friends with me.

I couldn't sleep that night. I feel overwhelmed. I saw an old notebook in my mom's drawer. I wrote all the things in my mind. I wrote everything that happened in the past couple of days including the day Shin and I went to my favorite tea shop.

I hope everyday will be like this.
