With his tongue firmly in cheek, John said, “Of course, that’s the main thing. But you know, I thought you might like to do something else in between...” Tara burst out laughing. “You have an answer for everything.” Leaving his embrace, she said, “Right, let’s get dinner out of the way. Oh, and by the way, dessert sounds perfect to me.” John took hold of Tara’s hand and led her into the dining room. She remarked at how busy John had been while she’d slept. Apart from cooking dinner, he had also laid the table.
