Chapter Five
When John called Tara the next week, they talked about his visit to Guildford the coming weekend. John was in high spirits as he put down the phone. He thought life was good, and would only get better. Given this, he decided to go to his local pub for a drink.
As John walked inside, he saw his policeman friend, Paul, sat at a table. John liked meeting him for a drink whenever he had time. However, due to Paul’s job and being married, were not as often as he’d like.
Seeing John, Paul waved for him to join him. After buying a drink, John went and took a seat with him. The conversation was soon turning to his new girlfriend.
“Hey, that’s great news,” Paul remarked, grinning. “Do you have a picture?”
John took a photo from his wallet and showed him.
