John leaned closer and kissed Tara on the cheek. Trying hard to control his emotions, he said, “Darling, if only I could take back what happened, I would. Seeing you so upset and doubting what I told you, I was devastated. My whole life flashed before my eyes. Without you by my side, I’d be lost.”
