Chapter Ten
“John, John!”
Recognising Tara’s voice, John all but dropped his glass in shock. He whipped his head around to see Tara pushing her way through the crowd towards him. The tension that had been in his body for days immediately released. All he could feel was a huge sense of relief.
As she reached for him, John flung his arms around her. “Oh my God, thank heavens you’re safe. I’ve been sick with worry about you.”
He pulled Tara close, who shook and sobbed. John kissed away her tears and pressed his mouth to hers feverishly. At this, a cheer went up from those around them.
One of John’s new friends called out. “I wondered why you’ve been looking so miserable; now I can see why,”
John whispered in Tara’s ear. “Let’s get out of here and go to my hotel. We can talk there.”
