The Last Star

A young woman's voice says. " What If we you were a star, compared to others you're nothing. But, what if the clouds cover all the stars besides you? Would you be happy because of the attention or be sad because all their judgements and eyes are on you? I'd be sad. I'd rather die alone than live alone. " A man in a suit skips the young woman's whisper. " Miss Selene. Your Father wanted to meet with you. I've notified Sapphire that you'd be a bit late for your meeting with Sapphire. " Selene, the young woman, looks at the young man and replies. " I'll be there, you can leave. " She leaves with a sigh. " Father, you wanted to talk with me? Privately? Is it anything urgent? I have to meet Sapphire later. " Selene asks her father. " Well, to be frank. I will be leaving the throne to you. ", The Moon God replies. This shocked Selene and she nervously replies. " What? But, you're in perfect shape, you're health is fine and if you're sick we can call a Doctor. We'll give you the best treatment. " The Moon God replies with a sigh and a serious look on his face. " My decision is final. I'm sorry I had to tell you this right now, but as soon as you turn 18 tomorrow, you'll be crowned queen. " " But-- But--- No! I never had freedom! Why would you force me like this! " Selene cries and falls to the floor but the Moon God shows no mercy and leaves the room, sure of his decision. " Why is he forcing me to face such a big responsibility when I have no experience and advice. It'll be better if mother was here to give advice and comfort me. Why Sapphire? " She talks to her sister, Sapphire who replies. " I have never understood father, he's always been unpredictable and he makes sudden decisions. Let's hope he changes his mind tomorrow. "  " I don't even know, he said it was his final decision and that he had a reason for it. But, he was in perfect health and he was ruling just fine. " Selene replies while still crying. " I know you're still turning 18 and all. I know you're not ready to rule, because you don't know what's ahead of you. The responsibility is huge and you'd be busy every second. I know its hard but if he doesn't change his mind. I'll be here for you. " Selene cries and cries while Sapphire hugs her tightly. " Trevor? What day is it today? "  Selene yawns and asks Trevor. Trevor replies with. " It is December 31st, happy birthday miss. We've prepared your breakfast. Your father has left you a gift, he'd like you to open it tonight, on your coronation. " Selene is shocked and remembers its her birthday and coronation today. She runs to talk to Sapphire. " Sapphire! Sapphire! Wake up! It's my birthday today, its also my coronation! ", Sapphire, who just woke up, answers Selene. " Yes, it is. Our aunts and uncles told me they'd come this morning. Better dress up fast. " Selene rushes to her room and picks the dress her mom gave her.  " This dress is made out of moon crystals, its the most expensive dress in the whole solar system. If we were a part of it. " She puts it on and looks at the mirror, it glistens and she gets a flashback of her mom wearing the dress. " Look, honey. Doesn't it look great on me? Your father gave it to me on our one year anniversary. I wonder what he'll give to me on our today, on our second year anniversary. " Selene says. " I was 5 years old already when they married. My father was so busy he didn't have time to marry mother. Father always left without even hugging mother. When he would come back he would go straight to sleep. Their only bonding time is in Saturday and Sunday. Even then, he would have a reason to go back to work. Mother did a lot of things, her responsibility was much bigger, but she made time to care for me and made me feel loved.  Sapphire cuts her daydreaming. " Hey, Selene. You look beautiful, you look just like mother. She must be proud of you. Wherever she is, she is proud of you. I'll see you later, Aunt Gauma is probably hungry. " They both chuckle and Sapphire leaves the room. " I don't know where mother is, but wherever she is. I do hope she's at least proud of me. " Selene says while still upset about the coronation. " Selene talks to the Minstar about The Moon God's whereabouts. Facts-  Trevor - A personal servant for The God or Goddess. The Minstar - The first part of the word is ( Min ) which comes from the earth word Minister and Star which is a glowing shape in the sky. It means The Prime Minister of the star or Moon. " Minstar? Have you seen father? He hasn't been talking nor attending events since yesterday. Have you, perhaps, seen him? " The Minstar answers confused. " I thought your father was with you. He informed me about going on a trip with you. Was I wrong? " Selene is quite shocked by this. " But, I haven't seen him since yesterday morning. Where has he gone? I thought maybe, you would know. " The Minstar, who is also confused answers. " If the Moon God is missing, we shall order a radar scan of the other planets. " Selene leaves, confused. " He must've been angry at me, because I didn't want to be a Goddess. But, no, I should be the one who's upset. Not him. He should be in the other planets, then. " Selene whispers to herself. " Miss? Can you spare some crystals? My mom told me to find people to get moon crystals. " A little girl runs and says to Selene. " Yes, I do. But, can you bring me to your mother? So that I can help you with your problem? " Selene answers. The little girl holds Selene's Hands.
