The drive home was silent as the night outside. I felt so numb I didn't even have the ability to cry anymore. What felt even weirder was I had no idea who the person sitting next to me was. Stealing a glance at him while he drove. It looked as he was trying to throttle the poor steering wheel. This human being was nothing like the fun-loving and always joking best friend who craved for my undying attention 24/7. If I'm being honest Alex suffocated me daily never allowing me to get close to another soul or form a bond with anyone else but him. which is why I just pushed all of his warnings about Mike to the back of my head. I assumed he just didn't want to share. Did I know that he loved me? yes. But did I feel anything else than that of a friend for him? No. Then why the hell am I so fixated on how hot he looks now, a vast difference from the boy who walked away from me more than 5 months ago and not concentrating on the fact that I was almost r***d. We reached my home, growing up in mansions is something we were all so used to. I am spoilt this I know but I am not arrogant nor do I flash my riches in anyone's face.
With Alex's coat on me blocking any evidence of the assault that Mike had done on my dress I walked into my home. My haven where I would hide alone until I died with my five cats. I was so done with men!
As I walked to the stairs I heard low sobbing coming from my father's study. Turning my head towards the left I was almost certain it was coming from his study. I walked into the room only to find my father crying on the floor. Rushing to his side I held him as he cried on and on. After some time he stopped and looked at me but all I saw in return was a broken man. "what happened daddy?" I asked. "We ruined my princess, it's all gone," he said. " what's gone?" I questioned him, not understanding a word he was saying. What could be gone?
"Sir, I think I can help" came a familiar voice behind me. When did he even enter the house? "I am aware of the situation and I'm willing to bail you out as well as save your company. All I ask in return is that you let me marry Paige as soon as possible"
