Chapter 1 : The Beginning
“Oh my god, you did not,” I giggled, pushing Grayson away from me. He was reciting a prank he had pulled on his fianceé while they were on a trip to visit his parents.
“I swear she was so mad! She forgave me eventually but man it was so worth it seeing her face!” he responded, laughing.
We continued talking for a little bit before splitting ways. I briefly reminisced about the brief time Grayson and I were married as I headed to my ‘boyfriends’ house if you could count him as such. We weren't anything serious but I left that part out when talking about him to Grayson and Bridget. Plus, he was my plus one to their wedding in a couple of days.
Bridget hadn't said it out loud, but I knew there was an underlying condition that I had to bring a date considering my past relationship with Grayson. She managed our friendship the best that she could, but it would be an odd situation for anyone. Not many people get divorced while remaining the best of friends, which is what Grayson and I had done.
Soon I arrived at Adrian's house and I noticed his car wasn't there. I walked up to the door and knocked anyway and his roommate, Jason answered.
“Ela! Adrian said you might stop by. He wanted me to tell you that something came up and he's sorry but he had to skip town,” Jason told me, leaving me on the porch in shock.
“He's my plus one to the wedding, we leave tomorrow!”
“Sorry, Elamira. You know that guy isn't reliable,” Jason shrugged before ducking back inside and shutting the door. I headed back to my car in complete shock. My drive home was a blur as I tried to figure out what to do. I could NOT show up to my ex-husband's wedding dateless.
