Chapter 11 : The Fall

I didn’t have any words so I just nodded my head. The kiss started out soft and sweet but then turned into a long lasting kiss of want and need. It was everything a perfect kiss should be, and he was everything a perfect man should be. The kiss lasted until we had to pull away, panting for breath. It was perfect. This was per--- “Ella?” I heard a shrill voice that ruined my entire day. I grimaced at the voice and turned to look over my shoulder, from the direction the voice came from. Sure enough, there stood my sister from the family I was now estranged from. “Breeda,” I said through clenched teeth as I took her in. “What are you doing here?” “Well, little sis, Gray invited me to the wedding!” she said as she sat down, uninvited, on the blanket Sebastian and I were sitting on. “It has been so long, Ella.” “For a purpose,” I muttered under my breath. “Who is this?” she motioned to Sebastian. “None of your business, actually, Bre. Sorry, we were just leaving,” I said as I stood up, lightly tugging Sebastian up with me while sending him a glance that hopefully said ‘I’m sorry’. “Awh, Ella, come on. That’s not how you treat family,” Breeda responded. “Really could have fooled me, Bre. Really could’ve fooled me,” I responded as I started packing our things back up. Sebastian just stood there, mostly confused. He hadn’t signed up for this. He hadn’t signed up to meet my insane estranged family. I was fuming. Grayson invited her? How dare he invite her. The question was nagging me, so I turned to her. “Why would Grayson invite you to the wedding?” I asked, leaving the layout half-packed as I turned to her. “Maybe he liked us, Elamira. Ever consider that?” she responded. “Why the hell wouldn’t he tell me he invited you?” I was getting even angrier. “Maybe because he knew you’d act like this. Like a brat. Like an ungrateful little girl who whines and throws away her family on a whim,” Breeda hissed back. I scoffed. “A whim, Breeda? A whim? You do realize I almost f*****g died when I told dad that Gray and I were getting divorced, right? I ended up in the hospital, and I almost died. And not a single one of you found fault in that. So yeah, Breeda, I f*****g left. I didn’t just leave, I fled. I escaped. I was fearful for my life, Breeda. And none of you cared. So my significant other whom you may not know the name of and myself will be taking our leave. I’m going to have a very strong talk with Grayson. And then you and I? We’re not going to see each other again,” I growled in response before packing up the rest of our stuff and stomping off, lightly dragging a stunned Sebastian by his hand.
