Chapter 2: The Boy With Her Eyes

404 Words
Three years. I had been gone for three years. No one in Black Moon Pack recognized the woman who stepped out of the black SUV. My hair was no longer the dull brown they mocked, but silky black. My body was no longer soft, but strong. And my eyes held no love anymore. "Elena?" A gasp came from the crowd. Alpha Adrian Knox stood on the steps, his golden eyes wide. He looked exactly the same - handsome, powerful, cold. Beside him, clutching his arm, was Vanessa. My former best friend. Wearing MY Luna crown. "You... you're dead," Vanessa whispered, her face pale. "We were told you died in the rogue attack!" I smiled, a cold smile. "Did my mother-in-law tell you that, Vanessa? The same way she told everyone I cheated?" The crowd murmured. Three years ago, I was chased out like a criminal, accused of betraying my mate with a rogue. No one believed me. Adrian stepped forward. His wolf eyes scanned me. "Elena, where have you been?" "Somewhere far away," I said calmly. "Raising our son." Silence. Dead silence. From the SUV, a small boy stepped out. He was three years old, with black hair and the most striking golden eyes - Adrian's eyes. My son, Liam. Vanessa screamed. "Mine," I whispered to Adrian. "He is three years old. You rejected me when I was two weeks pregnant." Liam held my hand tightly. He looked up at Adrian with curiosity. Adrian fell to his knees. His powerful Alpha body shaking. "My... my pup..." I bent down, picked up my son, and looked at the man who destroyed me. "I'm not here to beg, Adrian. I'm here for revenge. You took everything from me. Now I will take everything from you. Starting with the truth." I turned to the crowd of wolves watching. "Gather everyone tonight. I have a story to tell. About how your beloved Luna was framed. And how your Alpha will kneel to his son." Adrian looked at Liam, tears in his golden eyes for the first time in his life. His wolf was howling inside him - MINE! PUP! MATE! But it was too late. I was no longer his. Liam whispered, "Mama, is that my father?" "Yes, baby," I said. "But he doesn't deserve you." And with that, I walked past the entire pack, carrying the heir to Black Moon Pack, leaving Adrian broken on the ground.
