Chapter 14: Bothered.

After all that crazy s**t that I've been through I never thought that everything would be alright. The forces of Umbrals were defeated after the fall of their leader, even the disadvantage in numbers we still manage to win. I saw that same person who wanted to kidnap me, the one who can control carnivorous plants. She was unconscious as she was carried by her teammates away from the battlefield.

I'm currently happily sitting near a tree reminiscing of my life and death situation earlier. I saw Jared rushing in with an angry face, Clim was behind him. I smiled at them genuinely, I still haven't thanked them for what they've done earlier.

"Jared, thank yo-."

"Are you a blockhead?! You wanted everyone to be in trouble didn't you? If humans like you are that stupid and weak then don't do anything!" The smile on my face faded as those hurtful words hit right through me.

I felt so small from what he said, they were all true. But I still don't understand what I did wrong to make him so furious.

"Stop that Jared, she doesn't know about what's happening." Clim said trying to calm him, he then slowly pulled Jared away from me who had the intent to hurt me.

"Then tell her!"

"I will."

"Don't be all that friendly and goofy just because she's a girl, she's just like Austin." Hatred was all over those words, he was looking at me with discontent as he walked out.

"You." I looked at him, I could see pity in his expression. "Just ignore what he said, he's just short tempered."

"What did I do wrong? I only wanted to save Myles, is that unjustly enough for him to storm at me?" I could hear the cracking of my own voice as warm tears streamed down my cheeks.

"Of course you did, Jared had his reasons. Have you ever heard of the saying fools eventually die from stupidity?"

"I'm not a fool." This is the first time someone called me by that term, the nerve of him!

Back in the days I was praised because of my intelligence, I was sent to every competition and I won them all. Maybe I'm just too stupid for them.

"You know the reason why Myles didn't summon Aries?" He looked at my eyes directly.

"No."

"Well, the Umbrals are currently collecting all the 88 constellations to wreck havoc. More than half of the 88 constellations are already in the hands of the Umbrals, they are already considered Untamed Celestials. If we the Zodiantes who are the only one who can stop this are incomplete, it can end us all. That bear you saw earlier was once a belonging of Jared, it lost it's innocence. Any close contact with Untamed Celestials can make those Celestial spirits infected. The contract you made with your celestial spirit will be gone, the one that infected your celestial spirit will be it's owner. Now you get why Jared was so angry at you."

"I'm sorry, I didn't k-know."

"That's fine, just be careful." I tried to smile as awkwardness filled the atmosphere.

Why is he being nice to me?

"But why did Austin summon God Leo when I was about to be kidn*pped. It battled those untamed celestials head to toe." He gave me a doubting look.

"Are you fuckin' serious?!" He asked angrily not wanting to believe what I said.

"Yes, I wasn't able to see the whole battle but I'm sure. There was this lizard and fly summoned by the same person we encountered by the gate, they were savages like that bear earlier."

"So he perfected it."

From his caring look he became so pissed off. Clim had that irritated look in his face as he left me alone, I stayed enjoying that silence around the place. The Knights were busy cleaning up the area along with aiding the wounded.

I really don't know what to do anymore, where to fit.

"Jamniaaaaaa!" My peaceful time alone in the hallways was over, Jyshyr is here.

"Jyshyr, this is embarrassing..." I whispered at her, giving every student who looked at us a fake smile.

She ran like a little kid towards me, having that smile as if we didn't see for years, I patiently waited.

"Sorry, I couldn't stop myself!" She cheerfully said and hugged me. "It's been two days, I had to friends to talk to! It's hard when you're alone talking to yourself."

"Don't worry it ain't bad, it's healthy actually. Just don't overdo it, okay?" I said sarcastically.

"Nah, anyways where were you?"

"Ah, I wasn't feeling so well so I decided to absent." I lied. I'm pretty sure I can't say important things about what happened yesterday. I'd be in hot waters if I tell anyone that, it's quite confidential.

"Are feeling okay now? Why didn't you say so? I should've visited you and took care of you."

"You don't need to." I replied as we continued to walk. "Let's hurry, we don't want to be late!"

The day went on like normal, no one from my class along with my teacher asked why I didn't attend school in the past days. Well, I'm not important anyways.

After our first subject I headed to the Celestial Building. As I arrived, the same atmosphere welcomed me there's still tension between the two groups. Miss Catherine call upon my attention as I sat, I silently went to her table.may tensyon pa din sa dalawang groupo.

"I heard what happened, you should be careful next time Ms. Tualla." She held my shoulder as she smiled, I felt touched by her simple words

"Yes, M-miss."

"Ask Aliah for notes for you to study and don't forget to train, the ranking will be next two week." I smiled at Miss Catherine before leaving, atleast she cared.

Out of all my classmates, Aliah was only the one who approached me. She gave me notes just like what Miss Catherine asked, while Myles since this morning didn't even gave me a glance. After our class I headed to the library where I went off to see Jyshyr.

"Jamnia, I'm so excited about next week!" Jyshyr's eyes glittered like stars trying so hard not to make any noise.

"Anything special?"

"Ranking!" I didn't mind her energy of excitement and continued reading. I still need some information about this world, I don't have time for that.

"We're in a library Jysh."

"I'm sorry, by the way can you now summon Virgo?"

"No, I'm even having a hard time summoning the key."

"How about magic? Clim for sure has taught you something." She asked having high hopes for me.

"Nothing! Like nothing, I've learned nothing from that jerk.'

"It was fun while it lasted." She murmured and looked at me pitifully.

"What fun?"

"Surely they'll bet you into a pulp putting you directly six feet under. Maybe all along this was destined to happen, I'll never forget you Jamnia."

"What are talking about?" I asked her seriously, it's seems important that my life depends on it.

"You'll go head to toe with the other Zodiantes for knowing whose stronger purposes only." She said like it was nothing!

"What?!" I said hysterically, she gave me the RIP sign which made me smack her.

From the word ranking, I thought it was just a normal thing which students give it their all to have high grades but going head to toe with the other Zodiantes?! That's gibberish, I'd never thought I'd engage in fist fights just to prove my worth.

"I can't do that! I'd be killed!" That's my Miss Catherine always reminded me to train! The hell!

"Yeah but you are obligated to participate since you are a Zodiante. Also, you're rank will determine whose alpha, the higher the more supreme you are. Clim and Austin are both fighting for the strongest student here in our school." Just hated how she had time teasing me instead giving me comforting words!

"So shits like also exist in this world..." I said in disbelief and tried to focus on what I'm reading.

"Actually, the ranking system in Zodiantes like you is quite strict. You have two rankings; one for the being an ordinary student here in Delphaze Academy and the other one for being a Zodiante. It's the most awaited event in centuries, Zodiantes fighting for supremacyyy! It's even broadcasted all around Astral. Injuring yourself won't help, you will be representing us, Virgos."

"What?!" I unconsciously shouted, the librarian look at me like a mad woman. I immediately hid my face with the book I'm reading.

"Yep, everyone will know your weak  and they'll look down on you. Most important, you dead." Jyshyr laughed as imaginary events circulated to my mind making me anxious.

"I'm gonna be dead." I bite my lower lips, I don't want to be the laugh of the town!
