When Lurch got back to the ranch, he was glad to find the bunkhouse empty. It looked like most of the men were going to spend one last night in the main house. He put his food in the nearly empty bunkhouse refrigerator. And made his way to the bedroom he would share with Ghost. It wasn’t that late, but the room was still empty. No sign that the other man had made any attempt to move in. That suited Lurch just fine. He made up the bottom bunk and looked forward to a quiet night.
