The alarm clock screaming its alert woke Kerry. She moved to turn it off, but something held her. She tried again and the arms around her loosened enough to let her shut off the alarm, then pulled her back against the warm body behind her. “I don’t want to get up,” Kerry muttered. “I know me either. But it’s time to get started,” Lurch said from behind her. She took a deep breath and let it out as a sigh before flipping the blankets back and climbing out of bed. “I’ve got to get up and get out or I’ll be late. And I don’t want to be late during my first week.
