Chapter Five.

Amanda's POV.

Nathaniel suspended the meeting and took me back to his chamber. This was entirely weird to me. Why did I agree to come back and just watch the worst things happen again to me. Or this was all a joke to Nathaniel. He seemed to be happy the entire time knowing fully well what transpired between us in the past years.

"What is this?" I asked Nathaniel when we were finally alone.

"Do I simply have to explain everything to you" he mocked. I wasn't stupid and he knew that.

"Are you going to talk to me or should I say something about this" i scorned.

"You're my mate Winifred. You cannot be away from me for so long. I need you and so do you " he spoke. His words were starting sound stupid and I wondered if he was truly the same Man i know.

" I didn't wish out of my free will to stay away from you. You banished me for something I didn't do. For seven years. Did you all of a sudden forget that you did that" i yelled.

He was suddenly quiet but I had to speak up for myself. All of this things were just happening at such an absurd moment.

It was exactly seven years back when we were still young and in love. Finding our steps in life. He was made alpha and leader of the pack in that period. I was genuinely happy for him. His earnest desire was to rule his people so well like his father who died mysteriously.

We would always meet at garden just beside the river, we met every night because I was young and still under my parents control. He would always assure that oneday he would be ready to have me as his queen.

"You look beautiful today"he said and parted my hair when I sat on the mat.

"I know..I always do and you always remind me"i said and we leaned in for a kiss. It wasn't a short kiss, he slid his hands beneath my gown and drew me closer to him.

"If we continue like this you know how things will end" i chuckled.

"It's even good that it happens. I want you "he said and pulled me closer to him and kissed me.

It was long kiss till I pulled away.

"We should save the actions for that time", i smiled.

I took an apple and a Small knife and cut it into halves for both us of us to share.

" I've started attending meetings and ramus is teaching me everything I need to know about giving out judgement. He said i am a fast learner," he spoke and chewed on the apple .

"It's good to know you're taking after your father so fast " i said and rubbed his head. He smiled and kissed me again.

And that's how we fell asleep right there. We woke up before day break and laughed about falling asleep there. I had to go so my parents wouldn't look for me.

"I'll see you again tomorrow my King" i mocked him jokingly. He kissed my forehead and hugged me before leaving. And this was the day trouble knocked on the door.

An old woman, not so old stopped abruptly when we met on my way out the garden.

"What are you doing here?" She asked and suddenly put her hands behind her.

"Nothing. I was only walking around" I said.

She looked frightening with her disorganized teeth. She looked like the half witches that were an abomination in the land.

"What's in your basket. Let me see it". She shrugged at my basket and I fought back.

"There's nothing in my basket for you to see" i said and pushed her away.

"You're a theif!" She mentioned. I was scared that I had met a mad person or worst a sorcerer because she looked like One. I took to my heels and ran away. And she kept pointing at me and calling me a theif. I got home that morning and lucky my parents were not awake. Still fast asleep.

My father would have killed me if he saw me. I locked myself in my room still processing the good time i had with Nathaniel and the old lady who seemed to have lost her senses.

It was later that night i knew all wasn't well. A small crowd appeared in front of our house and my parents went out to find out what was happening.

"What have you done this time Winifred? " My mother asked me while father was doing his best to control the crowd. " I didn't do anything mother" i said tearing up .

" We would leave on one condition. If she brings the basket she was carrying today "a young person spoke. But the young woman had similar features to the old lady i saw earlier. The basket was just on the table and I grabbed it with fear.

My mother and father looked at me with confusion in their eyes. And when I opened the basket there was a bunch of gold jewelries in it.

"Indeed she is a thief!" They all yelled and grabbed my hands.

"No wait. I am not. I was framed. Dad... mom"I called but the cruel crowd didn't let me have my way. I was taken to the palace for judgement and in my heart i felt safe. Nathaniel knows i would never steal anything and I would tell him everything that happens and exactly how it happened today.

But after listening from both sides he passed a horrible judgement against me.

"I find you guilty of all charges that has been laid against you. Your punishment will be apprehended immediately. I today as alpha and leader of this great pack banishes you from today. You are not to return or else that would be the day you die".
