Revenge

May watched as Alpha Leon paced the basketball coaches office, that for thentime being had been repurposed for an interview room. Or with May at the helm; a compulsion room. Although she thought compulsion studio sounded a bit better. She wasn't going to bring this thought up to Alpha Leon, though. She had only interviewed two adult male werewolves at this point. And their answers had taken a toll on the Alpha. The two gentlemen that had been questioned, one at a time, both answered in a very similar way. Informing them that the strange things in their pack started to occur when Alpha Dolan Thistle took a trip with Dorothy Thistle to Florida. Dorothy returned and made herself Alpha, and no one ever heard anything of the former alpha. It was then that pack members were encouraged to also go to Florida for a project that Miss Thistle claimed was going to change their lives. The young and strong went first and then were never heard from again. Families complained that their connection with their loved ones had suddenly become cut off. And were also unable to contact them through all other forms of communication. Questioning of the new Alpha - Dorothy resulted in harsh punishments or completely ignored. Then the order came that all the pack would all make their way over to Florida, and if they stayed here, they would face dire consequences - no exceptions. So, a large portion of the pack left, coming to this pack for sanctuary. Not being able to reject Alpha Dolan and the Southern Shadow Pack as they didn't even know if he was alive, and Dorothy hadn't get completed her Alpha appointment ceremony. So they came here, hoping the stories of Alpha Leon and his accepting nature were true and that their families could now live peacefully in his pack. The inner conflict of the information Leon had just received, knowing that under compulsion it was completely true, was hard for him to take. There was a long pause of silence as it was apparent he was mind linking people. Most likely his Luna- Elara. "I don't need you to question anyone else." He said finally "It's no problem, I can.." "No!" He objected firmly. "It's not fair to submit people to this when they have done nothing wrong." May was taken back, even though he was half witch, half Alpha werewolf, he was born for this role in every way and it was admirable. "I'll make plans to have these people accepted to the pack and take their pledge to myself and the Silver Thorn as soon as possible. Further residential facilities have already started construction and are not quite ready. Not to mention, I will have to add a lot more. I will ask for the support of my pack to house our new members in the meantime. I hope everyone will be accommodating. " "If they are anything like you and your sister, they will be." She smiled at him. "I'm sorry though, I know you wanted a new assignment to really take your mind off things. I will try and figure out something else." "No, it's okay." May cut him off. "I think I just really need to talk things out with your Luna if that’s okay." "She wouldn't let me say no to that." May felt quiet, self-conscious, sitting across Elara in the hospital room as she received a blood bag via intravenous. "I just can't believe you have never drank human blood." Elara broke the silence. "I mean, don't you get like intense urges? Have you ever been close?" "Yes, the first time I met Elodie was hard," May responded. "O, I get that! Her scent is like intense." "So… I am humbled to be sure, but why the requst for an audience with little young me?" Elara asked. "I think you can help me, I need, I need.." "An objective.. I get that, but I think you need to process this grief you're experiencing. I know I said you need to widen your world, but I think you need to actually go back." This peaked May's interest greatly. "What do you mean?" "I mean, you were turned, weren't you by Traian to serve the earth mother, right? So I think you need to find him and find your place again. Are you in contact with him?" "No, the only time I have seen him is when he gave me a choice as I was dying, and then he turned me." "God vampires are so weird. Right then, " Elara continued," New objective tracking him down." May rubbed her hand over her face, thinking about if that was even possible. It was like spark hit her, a plan, a scheme, a plot started to run through her veins, building up more and more so she would achieve that goal while also achieving another. "Yes, I believe I could attempt to track him down." May almost hummed. "Mmm, that face looks terrifying. Are you sure you haven't tasted blood?" Elara said with wide eyes as she took in May's determined and almost wicked grin she was now showing. "No, no, but I want to taste… revenge…" Can you do something for me?" 1 month later Zack sat in the same spot in May's old decrypted apartment as he had done for over a month now. He had read over her entries all 40 years of them. Her knew everything he could about her, but he didn't know the one thing that had been driving him insane, which was where she was. He tried to remove her out of his mind, but every aspect of his life seemed to be haunted by her. He always thought he saw her in the corner of his eye, just out of reach of his focus. He swore he saw her figure looking down at him as he did his daily laps in his indoor pool. He had seen a range of various doctors, although he didn't give them all the specific details. They all came back that he had a clean bill of health and nothing wrong. But he felt himself starting to go mad. He was going too far. He knew he was going too far. He had even bought out the company that made that damm hoodie she wore so much. So she would be easier to spot if she was ever in public again. Zack's eyes started to close as he felt exhaustion fall over him. He had lost track of time and had no idea how long he had been there now. It only felt like his eyes were closed for a moment before he was coughing, spluttering, and trying to breathe. He opened his eyes and was bewildered that the apartment was alight. Flames quickly consumed the room, seeming to consolidate at the window - his only escape. He managed to get to his feet, struggling to get oxygen into his lungs. The main door of the apartment was bolted shut, but he had to try. He slammed himself into trying to make it budge. He could feel it start to shift under his weight, but not enough to open it. The smoke was making it almost impossible to see. He could feel his strength and consciousness start to slip as he slammed himself into the door again and slid to the floor. He was barely hanging on as the door started to move behind him. He felt cold, smooth hands grab his arms, and he swore he was dreaming. He remembered that touch. He would always remember that touch, he dreamt of that touch. His vision were still extremely blurry as he tried to look up at her, her figure like he had sworn he had seen so many times in his mind was now dragging him down the stairs out of the apartment building that was on fire. He felt the harsh concrete of the street pavement under him, and to his horror, she had let go. He tried calling out to her, but it was no use. No sound could come out of his throat as his lungs started to fill with oxygen again.
