Henry's POV
Damn it! Just damn it!
Today has been a whirlwind of events that I could have never anticipated. The emotional rollercoaster began when my once-secret relationship with Daisy was unexpectedly laid bare for all to see.
As if that wasn't enough, today took an even more heartbreaking turn as Aurora, the one I had envisioned spending my future with, chose to publicly reject me. The weight of her rejection felt like a heavy blow to my heart, and I struggled to comprehend the sudden and public unraveling of our connection.
With my emotions already in disarray, the day's turmoil reached its peak when that bastard Edward, a figure I never thought would cross the threshold of my engagement party, made an unexpected and unwelcome appearance.
Frustration welled up within me, I tore off my tie and cast it aside. What was supposed to be a celebration of love and commitment had turned into a chaotic scene.
"Don't be so upset, Henry," Daisy wandered over to me and took my hand. She was wearing a red dress so similar to Aurora's, all it did was remind me of how beautiful Aurora is.
All I can remember is the look Aurora gave me before she left. I feel like I might never be able to get her forgiveness.
"I'm scared that Aurora won't come back to me, Daisy."
Daisy looked awkward for a moment and involuntary tightened her grip on my hand. I was too lost in my memories to notice.
The three of us had grown up together.
Aurora has always been an excellent woman. Even at 16 when she discovered she had no wolf.
For a werewolf, this was a serious flaw.
Fortunately, she still had the support of the Swiftfoot Pack. Every time I spoke up for her, people's opinions of me improved. I gained many supporters just from defending her.
After all, the strong always protect the weak.
The same was true for Daisy. I liked Aurora, but I couldn't refuse Daisy. I thought I could keep her a secret until I got too impulsive in the study today.
"You still have me, Henry," Daisy said, still as understanding as ever, comforting me with a gentle hug to my arm.
I put my hand on hers and squeezed tightly. "I don't want the three of us to separate, Daisy."
"Then go get her back," my mother's voice came from the door. Daisy immediately let go of my hand and respectfully stood to the side.
"Mother." I nodded in greeting. "What should I do?"
Why would I ask that? I already know what I have to do. I have to get Aurora back!
After the video was shown at the party, my reputation plummeted. Although no one dared to say it, Edward throwing me had made me a laughingstock amongst my pack.
I knew my Pack wasn't strong enough to confront Edward. If we lost the support of Swiftwood we would have no hope.
"If Aurora and Edward join forces, we will be the first to suffer."
My mother smiled at me mysteriously and said, "Don't worry about the Timberwolf Pack. The main aim now is to get Aurora back. We must have the Swiftfoot Pack's territory.”
"I understand, Mother."
I didn't know a lot about the feud between my pack and the Timberwolf Pack. My parents often said that Edward was just playing around. If he came to steal our resources, we could just give them to him without any worry about the safety of our Pack.
I knew my parents have a more complicated relationship with the Timberwolf pack, but I couldn't get involved now.
If only the wedding went smoothly. I could have had a Luna and inherited the position of Alpha.
"Why not just marry Daisy?" My wolf questioned.
"What are you thinking, Aiden? She's just a Beta's daughter."
Daisy's status made her fine to play around with. Her becoming Luna wouldn't bring any benefits to the Pack.
I patted Daisy on the shoulder. "Wait here for me. I'll handle this."
"Henry!”
I could hear her anxious voice behind me. She wanted to say something more but I have no energy to listen to her right now.
I ordered my Beta to gather the guards and form a team. We marched toward the entrance to the Swiftfoot Pack.
Aurora, if I can't win you back, I'll just have to think of another way.
If you don't come back to me, I'll burn this place to the ground.
Swiftfoot's Beta appeared with a group behind him. They all looked weak.
I hoped the Beta had passed on the message. After all, I didn't want to attack the pack. All I wanted was Aurora to come back and forgive me.
Then I can inherit my rightful position and take the Swiftfoot Packs territory into ours. I'd be an even stronger Alpha.
"Alpha, someone is here." Beta John stated in a low voice.
I turned and saw a red convertible drive over. Aurora was in the front seat. All I could see was her striking golden hair.
The car stopped. Edward stepped out of the driver's seat. He walked round and opened Aurora's door. He took her hand and gently guided her out of the car.
Seeing their hands intertwined sent a shot of pain into my heart. Didn't she know that Edward was a complete playboy? They already looked familiar with each other. If they spent any more time together I might never get her back.
But why was Edward here? What did me attacking the Swiftfoot pack have to do with him?
"Alpha Edward, what are you doing here?”
Edward chuckled lightly, straightened his sleeves and stood beside Aurora. "Let me introduce my fiancee, Aurora.”
