Ivy I barely slept that night. I tossed and turned in my sleeping bag, outside of Duhn and Marice’s tent, unable to keep my eyes off of the unmoving figure of Khason in fur, curled up just outside the firelight’s reach. Though he didn’t move, I knew he didn’t sleep either. I stared up at the sky, watching it lighten incrementally. His words replayed in my head over and over. I love you…that is forever… Emotions warred in my chest. No one had ever said those words to me before, save for my family. Had my father ever actually said them? And then there was Noah. But it hadn’t been real. Not truly. Was I using Khason? I supposed it was true. I’d made it clear from day one that I planned on rejecting him, but only after he helped me save my pack. If I’d rejected him that night at Alpha Daws
