Chapter 2

-Elena-

'three, two, one '

Elena mentally did a count down as she made her way to the waiters common room to get her stuff as it was a few minutes to 7:00pm which was the cafe's closing hour.

"Hey Elena"

Someone called behind her whose voice she recognized to be James.

James was a guy who worked in the same cafe as Elena and had asked her out many times in the past but she always turned him down not because he wasn't good looking;Infact James was a regular muscular green eyed blonde guy whom any girl would drool over but Elena was not just any random girl like others so she turned him down always but James never gave up (his words not hers)on asking her out so Elena resulted to avoiding him .

But that barely got him off her back because they worked in the same cafe.

But these past few days James had been absent from work for reasons which Elena didn't know and didn't even care to know because whatever it was really happened to have her in mind before making James absent.

Elena pretended not to hear him as she continued walking but James was not getting it just yet.

"Hey Elena wait up!!",

James called behind her much louder this time that anybody could swear she heard.

Elena stopped walking and mentally rolled her eyes before turning around and smiled sweetly to him.He was dressed in a blue jean and a grey body hug polo which showed his muscular chest and biceps.

"Oh hi James"Elena waved at him

"Hey"

"How have you been,I haven't been seeing you around lately "

"Yeah, actually I went to visit my Grandma "

"Oh Okay "

"Did you miss my presence that much?"

*You mean absence;Of course I missed your absence*Elena mentally responded to herself.

"Of course I missed you we all did"

Elena saw a light shade of pink on his cheeks as he nervously scratched the back of his head and she knew right away what he was about to ask and she also knew he knew what her answer was going to be.

"So uhmm--I was --i was --you know thinking you know that since maybe you missed me that much if it is possible for us to hang out this weekend to catch up on all the times I was absent"

Elena saw the expectancy in his eyes in the way he was stared at her waiting for her response and she couldn't bring herself to reject his offer this time.

*It is just a friendly request right she mentally thought to herself even though she knew James considered it to be more than that *

"Sure,but can I tag along with my best friend?"

James eyes lit up at Elena's answer as he wasn't expecting her to positively accept his proposal this time and probably reject him like other times but to his utmost surprise she didn't and he was beyond estatic right now.

"Of course my best friend would be there too so your friend can come along also"he responded with glee in his eyes.

"Kk no probs "

" Yeah sure it's a date then "

*and who says it's a date?*

"Ok bye then I'll catch you later "

"Thanks I'll send you the address "

" I would be expecting it "

"Uhmm ,I was thinking if I could drop you off at your house if you don't mind "he nervously asked again.

" I would have really loved to but I wouldn't want to impose on you and besides I already ordered an Uber and it would be here any moment from now "she lied because she couldn't imagine how awkward it would be being just the both of them together alone in the same car"

*no thanks I'll pass*

"Oh okay bye then"

"Yh bye"

Elena then sighed while staring at James retreating figure happiness clearly written all over him before making her way back to the common room.

Little did she know that she just made a life changing decision.
