Chapter 3

"Thanks for the ride"

Lena smiled while thanking the Uber after getting down from his car at her small and also very affordable apartment at Lorne street which she shared with her best friend bailey since she moved to New York from Italy.

"Sure, you're welcome and don't forget my five star ratings"

"Of course I won't"

Lena thanked me the Uber once again and waved him goodbye before making her way towards her doorstep.

'that woman really got balls' Lena muttered silently to herself as she was making her way towards her doorstep while reminiscing the discussion she had with the Uber driver who tried to lighten her mood after noticing she was in a shitty mood and who knew Ubers had good humor she muttered to herself again

Lena rarely used an Uber because she always had a lot of bills and expenses to cover so using the subway kinda saves her a fair amount of money.

"Baileeeeeeey, I'm homeeeeeee!!!!!!!!"

Lena screamed out to her best friend while slumping on the beige coloured couch she and Bailey got about a month's back.

"Hey baby girl"

Bailey greeted Lena with so much liveliness while making her way from the kitchen putting on an apron with a laddle in hand walking towards Lena who laid on the couch like a mummy who got bitten by a zombie.

"Hey"

Lena grumpily replied to Bailey's greetings.

"How was your day?"

" Today was very, very exhausting and tiring as usual.Like I'm so exhausted right now I feel like............hey wait up are you preparing dinner?

Lena who just noticed bailey was putting on apron as a sweet smell wafted into her nostrils.

"Yeah I'm preparing my chicken curry special and veggie mix with freshly baked chocolate cookies for dessert." Bailey proudly announced to Lena. She worked as a su chef at a small restaurant in town.

Lena immediately lunged towards the kitchen excitedly.

"Hey wait up, don't you dare touch anything until dinner's ready and the table's set you foodie!!!"

Lena's stomach grumbled in delight when she sighted the plate of chocolate cookies on the kitchen counter.She made to grab some when bailey suddenly hit her lightly with her laddle.

"Ouch what was that for"Lena asked while feigning pain and sulking which got bailey chuckling and then suddenly bursted into an uncontrollable laughter.

"What's so funny?"Lena asked while glaring playfully at bailey oblivious to the reason for Bailey's laughter asked while still sulking.

"Oh my goodness...... hahahaha......Oh my my "Bailey tried stabling herself while clutching her stomach and wiping the tears that had formed at the corners of her eyes while she was laughing

"My sweet sweet elen you know you look really lovely while glaring right?"Bailey asked amusement visibly dancing in her eyes.

"Meanie"

"Alright, Alright go take a shower, freshen up and come back down for dinner hopefully it would be ready in twenty".

"HOPEFULLY!!!!!"; what do you mean by 'hopefully'? Lena who was already famished and starving asked bailey unbelievably.

"I would be going to freshen up now and I'll be back in ten make sure dinner would be ready by then Okayyy?"

"Aye Aye captain milady elen"Bailey jokingly replied which got elen giggling.

"Alright my humble subject, I would be leaving now"Lena played along which got bailey laughing out loudly.

"Elen Take your time okay?"

"Kk"

Lena couldn't help but smile to herself while making her way to her room.In as much as they lived in a small apartment, they got lucky enough to have two bedrooms.Only bailey called her elen and she loved it.
