Awakening
I wake up to the sound of birds chirping and the smell of nature. I try to open my eyes and when I do, what I see simply astonishes me. I'm in a forest that seems to be occupied by trees tens of feet wide and the flora is a myriad of colors and their various shades. Up in the trees whose tops seem so far away, I see animals swinging on branches and vines. The canopy is so thick, I'm unable to see the sky and I start to choke up. As I move my legs to stand up to get a better view, I hear the breaking of branches coming from behind me. I scramble up to my feet with haste that I didn't know I had and turn around. A man is standing there with what looks to be leather armor. He's broad shouldered, over six feet tall, has short brown hair, a thick beard, and brown eyes. He slowly walks toward me. He almost creeps up with grace, but when he reaches me, he kneels down and asks me a question. "What are you doing here, boy?" He says with a voice that reminds me of something or someone, but when I try harder to remember, I get stabbed by a sharp pain in my head and without knowing, I fall unconscious.
