Chapter 24 — Unleashing the Devil (Dual POV — Damian & Aria) --- Damian’s POV The scream still echoed when my knees hit the concrete beside Sofia. Blood seeped between my fingers as I pressed down on the wound in her shoulder, her breaths coming in shallow, panicked gasps. “Stay with me,” I growled, my voice low but urgent. Her trembling hand grabbed my wrist weakly. “I… I didn’t… want to…” I clenched my jaw. There was no time for forgiveness. “Lucas!” I barked, never taking my eyes off the masked bastard backing away. “Get Aria out of here — now!” But Aria didn’t move. She stood frozen, her wide, tear-filled eyes locked on Sofia. “Go!” I roared again. That snapped her out of it, and Lucas grabbed her arm, pulling her behind him. I raised my gun at the masked man. “End of the line.” He tilted his head slowly, his voice calm, taunting. “You kill me, and you’ll never find Victor.” I pulled the trigger anyway. The bullet tore through his leg, and he crumpled, clutching the wound. “Good,” I said coldly, stepping closer. “Now you’re not going anywhere until you talk.” --- Aria’s POV “Damian, stop!” I shouted, my voice breaking. “He needs a hospital!” He didn’t even look at me. His entire focus was on the man bleeding at his feet, his expression like carved stone. “Damian, please,” I begged, stepping closer despite Lucas trying to hold me back. “Enough!” Finally, his gaze snapped to mine, sharp and blazing. “Enough?” he repeated, his voice low, lethal. “They took Sofia. They used her. They almost killed you.” I swallowed hard, my throat tight. “I know… but—” “No buts,” he cut me off, stepping forward until we were almost nose to nose. “This ends tonight.” --- Damian’s POV I turned to Lucas, my decision final. “Call Kade. Tell him to lock down every exit in the city. I want Victor’s people hunted, cornered, and broken.” Lucas hesitated for half a second. “You’re going to start a war, Damian.” I smiled darkly, chambering another round. “War started the moment they touched what’s mine.” --- Aria’s POV His words sent a shiver through me — not just because of their meaning, but the way he said them. Possessive. Unyielding. Dangerous. I should’ve been terrified. I was terrified. But somewhere deep inside, I also felt… safe. And that scared me even more. --- Damian’s POV I crouched next to the masked man, pressing the barrel of my gun against his jaw. “Where is Victor?” I demanded. He spat blood, laughing bitterly. “You’re too late. He’s already… moving her.” “Who?” I snapped. He grinned, teeth stained red. “The girl.” For a moment, I didn’t understand. Then my stomach dropped. Aria. I spun around, but she was right behind Lucas, pale and trembling. Victor was after her. Of course he was. --- Aria’s POV Damian’s jaw clenched, his eyes dark and stormy as he stared at me. “He wants you,” he said, his voice low, almost a growl. My knees went weak, and Lucas grabbed my arm to steady me. “Why me?” I whispered. Damian’s silence was answer enough. Because I wasn’t just a lawyer anymore. I was a pawn. --- Cliffhanger Ending A sudden explosion ripped through the building, the shockwave throwing me backward. Screams. Fire. Chaos. Through the smoke, a voice boomed over a loudspeaker: “Blackwood! Bring me the girl… or everyone dies.”
