Chapter 39: Deceit (2)
As Alex began his story somebody knocked on the door rather violently. “Hello! I am sorry for coming here so late but could you listen to me? Vincent!” It was a woman’s voice outside.
“That sounds like Anna.” Vincent quickly stood up and went to open the door. The distressed woman quickly went inside. She was sweaty and out of breath, it seemed like she was running all the way up to there. “Anna… are you okay?” he said worriedly.
“Ye-yeah I’m fine… Just… it’s Elena… I need to tell you something…” Anna barely made the sentence because she was so out of breath and energy.
“We’ll talk, but first calm down, rest for a bit. Here sit down. Alex could you bring her a glass of water?” Vincent asked and Alex nodded and went to fill one and bring it to her.
