Chapter Nine

999 Words
Sarah followed Andrew back to his place. She made sure to stay close to his car in traffic so that she wouldn't lose him at all. She wasn't sure what they were going to do once they got to his place but she wouldn't be able to stay more than a couple hours. She would need to head back to her own apartment for the night to get ready for work the following day, but she was going to enjoy the next couple hours with the guy she liked. They weren't officially dating but they had been kissing and getting fairly intimate with their conversations. When Andrew pulled off into a parking lot for an apartment complex, she pulled up next to his car and parked. She could tell from even outside the building that it was a high-end apartment complex. This was a building that she would never be able to afford. She stepped out of her car and locked it up, seeing Andrew get out as well. He walked over to her car and leaned down, kissing her again. She leaned up and kissed him back, not bothering about who might be seeing them. She wouldn't know anyone from this part of town but it seemed that Andrew would. He obviously didn't care about who might be seeing them either, otherwise he wouldn't have kissed her. They pulled away and Andrew took Sarah's hand before walking inside with her. He nodded to the doorman before pushing the up button on the elevator. They went inside and Sarah saw him push the button for the top floor. "The penthouse? You live in the penthouse?" She asked, just shocked. She obviously knew about him owning night clubs but that didn't mean that he would live in the most expensive apartment in a top building. "Yeah. It allows me to have guests over without having to worry about the neighbors." He said and saw the look in her eye. "I have colleagues over a lot to discuss the clubs and other potential business ventures." He explained and she just nodded. "You didn't have to explain." She said and kissed his cheek as the elevator doors opened. "I know I didn't have to, but I wanted to. And yes, I have had women up here but you're special. I want you to know that." He said and led her inside. "You think so?" She asked as they went to go sit on the couch. "I know so. At least, you are to me. Honestly, if you weren't, we would have been in my bed already. But I haven't felt this way in a long time, what feels like centuries.. so I'm not going to push us along at all. I want to take things slow between us. Well, slow for me anyway." He said and moved a stray hair of hers out of her face. "I appreciate your honesty. I agree though. I want to make sure this is the real thing before moving any farther." She said and kissed him gently. It quickly turned into something deeper, but they didn't push it any farther than kissing. They just took the opportunity of them being alone and made the most of it. Even at his club they didn't do anything more than just pecks here and there. This was something more, more passionate, more intimate, something they would both remember. After ten minutes, they slowly pulled away to gain their breath back. Andrew grabbed the remote from the coffee table and turned on the television. He put his arm around Sarah's shoulder as she rested her head on his shoulder and looked through the guide to find something for them to watch. He put on a random movie that didn't sound like it would be a chick flick and watched Sarah's eyes widen. "What? You know this movie?" "Everyone our age knows what The Hunger Games is. You don't?" She asked, shocked. "No, not really. I don't get much time to watch television. I spend most of my nights at the club and then spend the day sleeping. Between those times, I'm either working out or with colleagues." He said as he saw a woman on the screen dodging fire that was headed her way. "Yeah, I suppose that makes sense. This was actually a book before it was turned into a movie. I read the books before watching the movie and I'm partial towards the books, but the movie is still pretty good." They spent the next hour and a half watching the movie, cuddling, and kissing. They made small talk here and there, mostly Andrew asking about different parts of the movie to which Sarah answered those questions. Once dinner time rolled around, Sarah was back in her car and heading back home. She wasn't used to this part of town, where most of the upper class lived, so she used her GPS in order to get home. Once she pulled into the parking lot of her apartment building, she parked and walked inside. Once she was back in her apartment, she texted Andrew to let him know that she was back home. She made up spaghetti with a salad for dinner and put the leftovers in the fridge before going to sit down to eat. She turned on the television and saw the next Hunger Games movie was on so that's what she watched as she ate her dinner. She got a response back from Andrew letting her know that he was going to be at the club and he might not be able to talk to her much that night. She just responded back with an 'OK' before going back to her movie. It didn't take her long to finish her dinner and clean up her dishes. Once that was finished, she took a shower and then got into bed. It was still early but she would just sit on her phone until she fell asleep anyway.
