A deal with the Devil 1
“You can leave the bar to Eve and join me in the casino. There’s not much work tonight. "I’d like you to be my company," Nico asked humbly.
I started with a loud laugh, “Oh Mr. Nico, just this morning you said it yourself that you do not pay me to stand around and watch you, and that I should either clean the rooms or serve wine, and that’s exactly what I’m doing, Mr. Nico is just my job”, I answered, fully aware of Nico’s motive and giving him a hard time.
He sighed, “I’m your boss, and it’s an order!”, and left immediately.
Eve grinned naughtily as she mimicked our boss, visibly mocking me “Lovers”, she teased.
“That’s not even my problem. "Leave all the spicy gossip exactly in its raw state for me ple…add”, I begged with puppy eyes, hurriedly putting out the glasses before me.
“And when would you ever bring gist for me, Miss Kate, your silly ass doesn’t even have a pipe of its own”, she teased further, laughing like she was being tickled.
“No, men are just impossible, look at Mr. Nico now, how does he expect to win me over when he acts like this?, humph, despicable”, I dried my hands on my apron angrily as I set it aside, hurriedly following Mr Nico, I could still hear Eve laugh at me as she watched me leave.
“Medusa”, I cursed.
The section for the casino carried a different vibe, a mixture of a highly dominating aura or, should I say… chaos.
“You are just the perfect one for me. "See how much attention our presence caused”, Nico smirked with pride.
But I couldn’t push away the unfamiliar feeling. Yes, the casino section was usually Eve’s section or another workers' section to serve, but I have been there a good number of times and even switched places with Eve at certain times.
This wasn’t a new environment.
My eyes wandered, searching for something peculiar, and my mind wandered in a gush of thoughts. I bumped into this huge masculine figure, and only then did I realize that I had been absent-minded for a while.
He was quite huge indeed, standing so close to me, she had to look up to see his face. My heart sank as she beheld his handsomeness, I could feel a lump form in my throat as I struggled to breathe, so people this perfect existed. I swallowed hard.
“Uhmn… s… sorry, I’m… I’m so sorry sir”, I stammered, my eyes apologetic and my hands placed tightly together pleading.
“I’m glad you are fine”, the man replied dismissively.
Just as I tried to process, Nico cut in, “Kate, what have you done now? "This is my VIP visitor, and you are already causing trouble” he complained, pushing me roughly to the side and stretching his hand for a handshake from the huge man.
“I’m sorry Mr. Hector, she isn’t familiar with this section, she’s just my concubine”, he apologized on my behalf, stretching forth his hand for a handshake.
“Mr. Hector”, I memorized, my brain pausing a second before I realized the remaining words, CONCUBINE? Was Nico crazy?
“I don’t have time for THIS!” Hector replied, his voice low and commanding.
“Oh, sure then, let’s head off to business. "I see you are a very straightforward gentleman”, Nico added, his voice shaky as he laughed, trying to lighten the tension in the air and to impress his… Customer.
“I’m already tired and bored. "I ask that you not waste my time”, Hector instructed, as Nico led us to some inner chamber that I had never been to before.
“I guess I had good gossip after tonight”, I giggled silently as I trailed behind them.
My eyes fixed on Mr. Hector's back, admiring his masculinity, he carried so much dark aura with a touch of nonchalance even his scent remained under my nose like he had hugged me when we stood only a few inches apart.
He moved with the grace of a predator, his presence screaming danger as both men and women silent to watch him as he strode past.
One room led to another. We passed quite several rooms, my eyes widened as I silently observed guns in some rooms, drugs in some others, pregnant women, and even children.
Nico did quite a lot of dirty work indeed. I had always doubted Eve when she tried to spread gossip.
Such an innocent bartender.
Finally, we got to the room they sought.
Many girls were skimpily dressed, and in heavy makeup. I felt slightly guilty for judging them as even I was in a very short skirt.
It was my job attire after all.
“Line up g…” Nico was about to speak when Mr Hector interrupted.
“Get naked”, he commanded, his voice laced with evil. My heart sank even if he wasn’t referring to me.
Some of the girls shivered, and some others were reluctant, but they all stared sexily, trying hard to impress him, of course, he looked like a big fish none would like to miss.
I placed my feet on the ground firmly so I would not run or faint. Why was this happening right before my eyes?
Instant regret washed through me as I stared in rage at Mr Nico who watched them happily.
Hector started with a red-haired girl.” Jump up!” He ordered. She lifted herself in the air immediately, smiling cheekily.
“Lift your hands too”, he added, his face laced with disappointment as she hopped, her breasts giggling miraculously like a balloon filled with water.
“Oh crap, I put myself into this”, as I rolled my eyes, unable to take it any longer, I headed for the exit.
“And who gave you permission to leave, you aren’t excluded”, Hector's voice cut in, I froze on the spot as my eyes widened both in shock and fear.
I cursed the day I applied to work here immediately.
I turned slowly, his eyes fixed on me with a hungry intensity and a mischievous grin, sending shivers down my spine.
Who was this man? I asked myself, I had never seen him, if he was a newbie in this area why did everything act scared around him, even Nico the mafia don, and people whispering and gossiping. There was something strange about him I wondered.
Hector returned over to where Nico and I stood, his face laced with disgust.
“They are all the same as you used a photocopy machine on them all”, he disapproved anger in his voice.
“The sinner's Den that lacks sin”, he scoffed.
He didn’t stop, his hands in his pocket as he strode out, long, dominating strides that made even those who had no business with him_or so I thought, shiver once again.
“I don’t think he is a man you need to let up in fury”, I warned Mr. Nico as we stared at each other fearfully.
