Chapter 1
☆Jezebel☆
If there was one place Jezebel hated it was the swamp lands. Trekking through the mushy mud, water sloshing into her boots, and the pungent smell was enough for Jezebel to lose her lunch. "Jez are you there?", Hannah asked through the ear piece nuzzled in her left ear. "Yes, Hannah. What's the location that I'm to be in?", Jez asked impatiently. She stood there letting the water fill her boots even more as she waited for Hannah's answer. A loud screech came over the ear piece making Jez wince, 'why hasn't she fixed this yet' she thought to herself. Not two seconds later Hannah's voice could be heard. "They are about 2 klicks away to the northeast. Should be situated at a camp and before you ask it gets dark in 32 minutes." "So you're telling me that I have stay in this place even longer? My senses can't take much more of this place", Jez whined. "I'm not waiting," she told Hannah before rushing in the direction of their contract. About 5 minutes later Jez was stationed outside of the rouge's camp. Two of the three were situated on stumps around the fire and the last one was in a makeshift tent about 10 feet away. It was still light out and she could hear Hannah going off on her for the hundredth time about not waiting. 'Doesn't she know what I'm capable of?' her wolf, April, asked. Jez just rolled her eyes and got her bow ready, smirking at the silver tips of the arrows. Notching one into place she lined up the rouge to the left, took aim, and watched it fly into his back. Before the next one could even move or make a noise he joined his companion in the mud. "What's the situation?", Hannah asked a little too late, like always. "Two down and one left, he's in a tent about 10 feet from me", Jez whispered knowing she could still hear her, given Hannah's abilities. After a second, she gracefully jumped out of the tree and pulled her silver daggers out of her waistband. Just as she was about to pull the tent flap aside the rouge charged her, knocking Jez in the mud. In the process he broke one of her ribs and busted her nose. Getting off the ground Jez shoved her dagger deep into his chest cavity before he could shift. Collecting her dagger and two arrows she wiped them off and stored them in their designated spots. "May I confirm the kills?", Hannah asked dully. Hannah was never a fan of the killing aspect but she loved Jez and wanted to put her tech skills to use. "Yes, kills confirmed. Go ahead and contact the handler", Jez responded. "Done! Now, are you on your way home?", Hannah asked and added, "It should be a 3 hour run in human form." "I will be home when I get home Hannah, I'm a grown woman that kills for a living. Give me around 4 hours and I'll be there. While you wait, see if you can find anything more on what we discussed earlier", Jez said before turning the ear piece off. After disposing of the bodies, she masked her scent and took off toward their home.
After Jez turned her ear piece off Hannah started to search for new information on Jezebel's past. This has been their routine for the past 5 years. Hannah would find a contract for rouges, Jez would kill, and Hannah would continue to help Jez uncover her past. For the last few months nothing has turned up. The only information they knew was that she came from a unique line of wolves. Her wolf was as big as an Alphas, she was immune to silver, and she was capable of masking her scent. There was no documentation of another wolf having these abilities but Hannah was determined to help her best friend. On the other hand, Hannah was an ordinary wolf. She had no special skills in wolf form but was a computer genius. Only today she couldn't find any more information on Jez's past. Sighing, Hannah got up and started to work around their small cabin.
-some time later-
As Jezebel approached the door to their small cabin, Hannah barged through the door. She ran up to Jez and pulled her into a bone crushing hug, causing Jez to wince as her injuries were still sore. "Oh my goodness, is everything okay? You should've healed by now", Hannah exclaimed, examining Jez from head to toe. "I'm fine Hannah, just a little sore from the trip and being tackled. My rib is back into place and healed completely an hour ago and my nose was set back into place before I left the campsite", Jez said to ease Hannah's worries. A sigh and chuckle left Hannah as Jez made herself comfortable on their small couch, propping her legs on the coffee table. "So, how much did we make off of those three?", Jez asked while rubbing her ribs to check for any remaining pain. "We made around $5,000 and I have split it into our various accounts", Hannah said with excitement, "but are we going to talk about earlier?", she asked. Jezebel just looked at her and sighed, "I'm fine and the contract is complete, what else is there to talk about?", she asked glaring at Hannah. "Okay, I'll drop it this time and there is no need to look at me that way", Hannah exclaimed as she dropped onto the other side of the couch. "Have you found anything new on my past? Maybe where my pack is, my parents, anything?", Jez begged, giving her best puppy dog eyes. Hannah dropped her head and that's all Jez needed to know. It's been years since she's begun her search. She's got to be from somewhere, even her wolf doesn't know. She could feel the sadness radiating from April as she thought about her parents. The only thing she knew about them was her moms bright blue eyes and her dads ebony black hair, everything else is a mystery, even their faces. Luckily, she had her moms eyes and her dads hair so she never forgot about them. Hannah could feel the sadness fill the room, almost suffocating her. "Do you want to go for a run? Lily has been begging me and I know April would like to as well", Hannah tried to convince her. Jez smirked at Hannah, "do you think you can keep up?" Hannah just laughed and darted for the door, stripping, and transforming into her light tan wolf. Right behind her was Jez shifting into her black wolf that was twice the size. Being rouges themselves they only had a small area to run but they never made that an issue. As Hannah took off, Jez leaped after her.
