Chapter 18

Three hours of calling the pack whom we have alliances with and I was only able to get a hand full to intervene into the battle .When I got to Silver Moon I hesitated, should I get my sister involved?

I dialed the number,hoping Calypso wouldn't answer the phone,"Hello?" Her octave voice said.

"Hello Calypso. "I said,rubbing my temples beforehand since I knew my siblings all too well.

Of course she is the one who answers James phone!

"Hey Shade-err, I mean Caspian. Sorry, old habits die hard. Anyways, what can we do for you."

"I need to speak to James. "

"He's right here."James said through the line as Calypso giggled .

I sighed,"In private. "

I could swear on my father's grave Calypso was pouting, "Why? "She whined.

"Because I need to speak to him okay."

"Does this have to do with Thea? What did you do Caspian Demitri Shade? "

I growled, "Calypso Nadia Shade, don't call me that."

"Fine, fine, I'm going. "She said but I didn't believe her one bit, even when I heard the door close.

"Thea punched Natalia - "

"She what ?" Calypso shrieked.

James chuckled, "Baby, please go outside, I'll tell you about this later."

I frowned but kept quiet, he'll see why he won't say a word to my sister.

"So what is it you needed to talk to me about?"

"My pack was attacked by the Knight Pack ."

"What?! Is Thea okay?"

"Yeah, but we encountered Embry Novaterra. "

James sighed,"Again, is Thea okay?"

"She took it well, she actually helped us find that they were after," I said before I went into the glory details of the problem. Explaining to James why they attacked us.

"Woah. . .err, tough luck. "

"I know. Hey, James, I need you to do something for me. . . "

I walked across the training grounds where hundreds of my pack members trained with different equipment. I smiled slightly when I spot a beautiful woman sparring with a wooden sword, spinning swiftly with the it, confident she wouldn't get hit by her opponent as she blocked the incoming hits. Even when she was training over at Silver, I admired her, but the fight in the Ball was the one that started it all, how she managed to defeat a man ten times bigger than her was still surprising . She was always so sure of every move, knowing her opponent's move before they do. And that flexibility, she is like a snake, fast and swift and focused on her goal, she managed to make me fall in love with her. She is so beautiful and strong and I can't afford to lose her.

Her brown eyes meet mine as she deflected the sword and smiled, she caught me staring at her. Then. her sword was against her opponent throat, "Don't do the same move more than twice, it gives your opponent something to use against you." She said and let the man out of the dangerous hold.

"Should I be afraid or impressed? "I asked her as I passed her a water bottle.

She rolled her eyes,"Both work just fine." She said as she wiped her sweat from her forehead with a towel

"How has training been going? "I asked and watched her shrugged as she drank water.

"Everyone could always improve, but they managed to impress me, if that counts for anything." She responded easily, the Luna characteristics rising as she became more involved in the pack, "How did the calls go?"

"Almost all of them agreed to help if things get out of hand, but none want to join the main battle. Silver is going to provide a safe houses for the kids and the Elders, including mom." I said, checking everything was accounted for.

Thea nodded and I knew she was anxious,but I also knew how stubborn she was . I found myself wrapped around her finger, she won't sit out for the fight. I slid my arms around her sweaty body,"You shouldn't have done that, now you'll smell funny." She said. I shrugged, I didn't care.

"Hello Caspian,"I heard Natalia say and my mate began growling lowly,"Thea." She said as if she was just recognizing her.

"Hey Natalia,"Thea said with a smile as she walked out of my embrace, taking me by surprise on how polite she was in contrast of Natalia,"What can my mate and I do for you?"

Natalia blinked a couple of times before answering,"The girls and I were wondering if you were interested in a friendly competition of sparring, tournament style."

"All girls?" Thea asked.

"Of course ."

Thea shook her head,"Then no thanks."

Natalia pouted her lips,"Why, are you afraid to lose? It's okay, not everyone can be perfect, certainly not a Luna with your bloodline."

A low growl rippled at the back of my throat,"Natalia- "

"You know what, whatever, Kyle will forgive me sooner or later." Thea said and began following Natalia to the wrestling mats .

This isn't going to end well.

You know that awesome feeling you get when you know you're about to show off without trying, that pride you get and admiration from others. Well I am not feeling like that, I was the Luna of the Shadow Moon Pack, and even if Natalia is an elephant size pain in the ass, it would be morally wrong to hurt her. Moreover win a fighting tournament.

We were at the final rounds when Natalia and I were about to fight .

"Ready to lose?" She asked me.

"I don't want to fight you." I said through a clenched jaw.

She barked a laugh,"You're a small, petty girl who only has a title and mate to protect her. A weak omega with -"

I cracked my knuckles,cutting her off, "Don't say I didn't warn you ."I said and one punch you the gut and she curled into a ball on the ground, gasping for air.

"Bitch." She choked out as she held her abdomen.

I kneel down and place my hand on her shoulder, "As much as you hate me,as much as you despite me, Natalia, I am your Luna and you can't ever disrespect me like the way you have,understood. I have been far too patient with your petty tantrums."I whispered to her in and calm tone,"He's my mate,suck it up and and act like the adult you're supposed to be. "

She nodded and I helped her up, happy I finally put her in her place.

The rest of the week became a hectic time,the pack was set and ready for whatever Knight Pack had . I had decided I was not letting my mate out of my sight until the fight was won,so that Monday morning I settled myself into watching her finish unpacking her things into the drawer I had ordered to be arranged into my - our room. One thing more done from the check list. Next she'll need to be presented as my mate and Luna to the pack.

I noticed one last thing she unpacked, a guitar.

"So you can kick ass, flip like a cheerleader, sing like an angel and play?" I asked her, then I noticed her books piled on the drawer,"And a bookworm?"

She turned to face me,"I didn't go to school to be honest, I did my studies online then went to high school my senior year, so I had a lot of free time."

"Show off." I muttered as she made her way to my side on the bed. She ran her fingers through the strings, causing the echo of them to rip around us. She strummed them again, this time more confident and adding her fingers to the neck of the guitar. The melody changed into something familiar.

"I never thought that you would be the one to hold my heart;But you came around and you knocked me off the ground from the start;You put your arms around me;And I believe that it's easier for you to let me go;You put your arms around me and I'm home." She sang softly accompanied by her guitar.

I sighed and buried my face in her neck."You're so beautiful." I murmured.

"Excuse me-"she shrieked before she threw her guitar to the floor and dashed to the bathroom,a hand spread over her cheeks.

"Thea?!"I panicked and went after her,"Thea what's wrong-"My question was cut short when I saw her kneeling on the ground as her hands gripped the sides of the toilet.

She can't be! Could she?

"Thea, Honey, are you okay?" I asked thought it was a stupid question to ask.

She flushed the toilet and closed the lid. Her cheeks were pale and a bed of sweat accumulated in her forehead,"I think I'm sick." She guessed.

I sucked in a few breaths and then told her,"Werewolves don't. . .well, we don't get sick, our immune systems are very strong. It'd have to be wolfsbane ingestion." Then I slowly added,"Or you could be pregnant?"

Her face conjured into a worried expression, then horror struck, then panicked,"Oh god my period is late!"She said and started hyperventilating, hanging her head between her knees.

Did she not want my pup? Our pup?

"Of course I want it." She said, answering my thoughts as she tried to even out her breathing. I snapped out of my haze and went to aid my mate, wrapping my arms around her,"It's just . . .well a-a bad timing that's all."She whispered.

I rubbed her back,"We don't know for sure, Honey."

"My period is late and this isn't the first time I've thrown up in the morning Caspian."

I swallowed, "Why didn't you tell me you weren't feeling well?"

"We were already packed with stress I -"

"Thea,"I cut her off.

"I-I can't be a mom, not this soon!" She said in a strained voice,"I don't know anything about parenting! Being Luna is hard enough! "

My heart sank, she was the only one who could make me feel alive and happy, but she could easily turn that around, I swallowed and stuttered out, "Y-you are not regretting -"

"No, I didn't mean it like that. I love you, Caspian. It's just these last few days have been stressful with all the training and Knight Pack and getting the pack ready-"She sighed,"A baby, Caspian, how are we going to manage with all the things happening?"

I picked her up, carefully,"First, let's go and see if you're having our pup ."
