Chapter 9

The next day was the same as the day before, training took most of my day, but to be honest I enjoyed regaining my intimidating edge, it made me remember life back at Silver. However that slowly made me miss home, though that was the problem. Caspian had not shown any signs of giving in and I doubted he ever will, it was just just a matter of time till he rejected me.

I sighed as I dropped the book I was reading on the counter top ir the island I sat on, not able to concentrate on the book, my mind filling up with what if's.

Suddenly my vision was black, my eyes were covered and my instincts skyrocketed. I took my assaulter's hand and twisted it at an angle and pinned him down on the ground in less than a minute.

"Ow ow ow! " Castor protested as I realized he was the one who surprised me.

I frowned,"What the HELL CASTOR! ? ! ?" I shrieked as I let go of his hand.

"You know, if I was facing the other way, I wouldn't be complained, but this position hurts."He muttered, out of breath.

"You're an i***t, Castor. Why the hell do you scare a girl who can definitely beat your ass? "

My body suddenly slammed against the floor, not hard enough to hurt me, but enough to impress me. Castor had rolled us so I laid on the bottom and he on top, "You were saying-?"

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!?!" A voice roared and I looked up to see a pissed off Shade.

Shit!

"What's all this screaming about!?" Jacklin hissed as she walked into the kitchen.

Castor began laughing, so I took that chance and rolled to my side, taking him off balance and allowing me to flip to my feet .

"You don't fight fair!" Castor whined as he got on his feet.

"Shut up, Cas."

Jacklin rolled her eyes and smiled,"I am going to cook some dinner, so go fight in the living room please, "She said and Cas shows me to the couch, but Caspian- Shade followed us too, his eyes clearly showing something negative.

An hour later we all sat down for dinner but I immediately froze when I saw my seat, the last one available. Just my damned luck. I dragged my feet to the empty seat besides Shade, forcing myself to choke down a groan, growl and all the things that show discomfort.

"So, Thea, the party is almost set, are you excited? "Jacklin asked.

I choked, literally, the orange juice going down the wrong tube,"You really didn't have to, Jacklin, "I said after I managed to breath properly.

"A party wasn't necessary, mother, I told you." Shade said as he eyed me cautiously, "Are you alright?"

I was about to respond when a high pitch voice shattered my ear drum,"Wow! Omg!! A party for me!" A squealing voice said after the front door had opened and closed, letting in a girl .

"Oh no," Muttered Casper.

"Well this will be interesting," said Jacklin under her breath.

I asked,"What-?"

"Shady Boo!" A tall blonde called as she approached the head of the table, and when she did,she gave a hug to Casper.

Shady Boo?

"Hello Natalia." Casper said in his formal, cold tone.

"Hey - eh, err why is there a girl in my seat?" She whispered to him.

My wolf impulses rise and my extended claws were beginning to dig into the wood on the bottom of the table, and only Caspian seemed to notice. He saw my enraged face being formed and unformed as I tried to calm down.

"Why don't you sit here with me?" Jacklin suggested but it showed she wasn't as enthusiastic as Natalia.

"Okay!" Natalia said and went to her side and sat on the seat next to her.

"So. . . I'm guessing you enjoyed Europe?" Castor asked as a way to break the awkward silence.

"Yeah! I loved it. So much culture the clothes- the fashion, oh you should have seen it !"

"If you loved it so much why didn't you stay," I muttered to low for her to hear as she ranted off about the different colors they used in the shows.

"Oh my god the food was f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c, fantastic!" She said.

I rolled my eyes and continued to eat,"Good, she know how to spell too," I add, so low only but Casper seemed to have heard .

His eyes caught mine as I eat a spoonful of mashed potatoes,"What you name?" Natalia asked abruptly, making everyone turn to me.

I swallowed and then said,"Thea, I'm -"

"Yeah, I don't care,"She cut me off and turn to face me,"So, who is this omega on my seat, and as much as I'd love to sit here with you Jacklin, I would like to sit closer to my f-"

"You're back!" Kyle said cutting her off as he walked into the dining room .

"Hey, big bro," She said and gave him a hug.

"I thought you'd be in Europe for a few more days, did you get my email though?"

Natalia shook her head, "What email?"

"Well, this will be good,"He muttered and takes her seat purposely.

Natalia walked up to me again,"Get off," She commanded in her Beta tone, but I somehow ignored it with a smug look,"I said, get off." She repeated.

Casper opened his mouth to say something, but I beat him to it, "You are a very audacious little girl, aren't you. I am not moving."

"What!?" She hissed, clearly taken aback and insulted that's her orders weren't obeyed,"Who do you think you are?"

"I'm a warrior who you really don't want to mess with," I said as I stood up just under her height by an inch.

She let out a bark of laughter, "Well, I'm a rank and Luna to be so GET OFF!!"

Wait what?

PLEASE!!

Do not mean what I think you mean.

"Am I right, Caspian? "

Everything just freezes. It all focuses on this moment and what it meant. My heart shattered and my stomach dropped, " You're engaged," I said in a low voice and felt my eyes water. I took in a breath of air, fighting them back,"It actually explains a lot of things Caspian," I snap and walked out the dining room.

"Well that was easy, "I heard her mutter as I left, "No one told her about our engagement-? Hey where are you going?"

"Thea!" Caspian called as I ran up the stairs,"Thea wait!" He said and caught my hand.

I turned quickly and slapped him,"Just leave me alone, would you. " I growled.

"Thea-"

"An engagement, Caspian? Are you kidding me? What's next !? A kid?" I asked, anger and mixed emotions rushing in me, "You know what? I don't want to hear it! "

"Let me explain-!"

I growled, "I gave you one too many chances to explain, one too many to show me you actually cared! I guess I was just in the way- "

The living room was suddenly filled with eavesdropping gossipers,"He pissed her off." Castor muttered.

"Shut up, Castor." Caspian and I snapped. "Thea, I'm sorry I didn't tell you, you deserved to know, but in my defense I tried calling it off hundreds of times I thought it was a joke. "

"I'm surprised something can be a joke to you, you emotionless turd!" I snapped, but I immediately regretted it.

Caspian's eyes glared at me, pupils turning black, "YOU MAY BE MY MATE BUT I AM STILL YOUR ALPHA. " He roared in his Alpha tone.

I didn't even flinch, I just stood there, furious and agitated," I am not your subject! You are not my Alpha! And you're barely a mate. Get off your high horse, you ass! "

"MATE!?!"Shrieked an infuriated Natalia.

"Oh my god stop shrieking! You sound like a god damned banshee! " I snap.

"What do you mean mates? We've been engaged for almost eight years!? "

Caper rolled his eyes and turned around,"I was forced to ask because of my father, never did I say I wanted to!!"

"Lies, you said you loved me!"

"I will only say that to one woman that's not family and that's my mate."

Natalia's eyes formed a glare towards me,"You did this! He was mine before your ugly ass came into the picture. "

Oh hell no,"Shut up," I growled, closing my eyes in attempt to calm down.

"What are you going to do? Cry you big fat baby? "

"Shut UP!!"I warned, fists ready to fight.

"Nat, shut up, you're going to get hurt,"said her brother who very well knows what I can do.

"She is a tiny omega, what can she do -"

I let a laugh, letting all my anger out,"Do you want to know what I do? "I said in a deadly serious tone as I walked down the stairs.

Caspian's eyes widen,"Thea stop,"He said and took my hand, instantly calming me.

"Sister you just got saved."

I jerked away from his hold and walked up the stairs, embarrassed, infuriated and irritated.

I open my bedroom door and as soon as I hear it close behind me I rip his shirt off, leaving me in my bra as I rush to my bag to get a white shirt of my own. Slipping it on, he walks in.

"Thea-"

"No don't you Thea me, Caspian! . . .I tried to tolerate this -what ever this is- but now I find out about this engagement?" I snapped, eyes watering.

He looked as hurt as I was,"Thea, I am sorry and I'll do anything to make it up to you."

"I just wanted you to be open with me, to trust me, but now I just don't care anymore. So now can you give me some dignity and leave me alone, I want to go home ."

"No,"he said.

I barked out a laugh, "I don't care what you want, I'm not staying here! I'm sick of this ! You treating me like an inconvenience and this is not worth my time. I may act tough but I can't stand you being so cold! I hate it Caspian! And I'm leaving," I said and finished packing my things, not wasting a second to get out of that place,"And not bother with the wedding invitations," I added bitterly as I walked out the room, not turning back as I phased into my wolf and left Shadow Moon grounds.

Guilt.

Emptiness.

Things I had blocked out all my life, never really caring. But this, this was torture of emotions that came back to me like an avalanche. I regret hurting her, lying to her, telling her I didn't want a mate and ignoring our bond like I have.

And my family wasn't all pleased with me for what I had done.

"CASPIAN DIMITRI SHADE !" My mother shouted was I walked down stairs, my patience thin and temper on the edge of destruction.

"How could you do this to ME!?! US, DID YOU MATE THAT HORE-?!" Natalia shrieked as I reached the last step, but a menacing growl cut her off.

"Don't you DARE speak about her that way!" I snapped, my Alpha tone clear in my words, but they also let on something.

I knew they suspected about her, us. And I ruined all the chances I had with her .

"Dude, what THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING? !" Castor groaned as he rubbed his temples.

I growled, "It it none of your business! "

"Oh, hell it is." Natalia said and placed her hands on her hips,"Why haven't you reject that b***h-"

Then my tolerance disappeared, "The only b***h I'll be rejecting will be you!" I snapped and she looked like she'd been slapped.

"No! You can't! I have been preparing myself to be your Luna for more than eight years, Caspian, YOU CAN'T GIVE THE POSITION THAT RIGHTFULLY BELONGS TO ME TO A LOW SOME OMEGA! "

My eyes narrowed and I could felt my anger rise to an uncontrollable extent, "SHE IS MY MATE AND -"

"HA! Well according to her she doesn't want you!"

"Well she isn't going to get away that easily." My mother intervened.

A small smile was inevitable as Natalia fumed, "But Jacklin-?"

"No. I'm sorry, Natalia but my son has found his mate and now has to find a way to fix the damn mess he's created for himself, " Mom said. Natalia stomped her foot before she turned on her heel and Kyle, who had been standing against the wall rolled his eyes, following after his sister as she went upstairs.

I couldn't help but to smile, "Then we need one hell of a plan." Castor muttered.

"Men," Mom muttered as she rolled her eyes and took out her phone,"Can't live with em,can't live without 'em." She smiled when her call went through, "Hello Calypso, darling we have a situation." Mom said as she glared at me.
