Returning... Life is an experience... Learn from it!!!

This is a story about Savi- an independent woman, a bright student, a brilliant teacher, and a loving mother. As the story begins, you will see the different roles played by this awesome lady. Savi is a lovely girl who lives in a small village in northeast India. She is a cheerful and lovely girl. Everyone loved her as she had this awesome ability to get mixed with everybody around her. She is not afraid of anything, she is well known for speaking for herself, and sometimes she becomes kind of rude and arrogant, but in the end, she has a soft heart that is filled with love and compassion.  Savi's family is not a well-to-do family, every day they have to struggle for their living. She has two brothers and one elder sister. Her father is a mason and her mother had a small tea stall. Their parents worked hard day and night to give a good life to their children.  One day, it was raining heavily and Savi's parents were off to work and they were unable to return home on time. They were also worried as they knew that there was no food left in the house and they were supposed to buy rice and vegetables today. The children were waiting eagerly for their parents in the hope that they would bring food for them, as there was no food for them to cook or eat.  It was already 10 p.m but there was no sign of their parents. When their hunger became unbearable, they came up with an option. They saw a cabbage that was lying in the kitchen. Savi's mother had told the children that in the evening she would make a great supper for them with this cabbage. But the hunger and craving for food were so much that they started eating this raw cabbage. Taking off one leaf after the other, Anu started feeding her sister and brothers. They also took a pinch of salt in their hand to enhance the flavor of the cabbage along with a glass of water. And finally, when their parents came back home, they were sad and full of regrets that they had to leave their children like that. Seeing her parent's sad faces, Savi thought to lighten up their mood and said, Ma, Papa" this cabbage tastes awesome and the salt adds more flavor to it, we never knew raw cabbage could be so delicious. From behind, her sister and two brothers who were just 7 and 9 years old nodded their heads in agreement with what she said. Their parents' eyes filled with tears as they hugged their children. As there was a lack of money, it was decided that Savi's elder sister would not go to school. Though she accepted the decision, it was not easy for her, but with time she accepted her fate. However, Savi and her brother were fortunate enough as they were given a chance to attend school. For the first installment of their school fees, Savi's mother had to mortgage her "mangal sutra" (a necklace that signifies the marriage of a Hindu women) and as the time passed by, there were other things at home that were mortgaged and sold for the sake of their studies, including her father's watch, brass utensils and even livestock such as cows, pigs, and chickens.  Savi was a bright and brilliant student, but the one thing that made her different from others was her school uniform and school shoes. No doubt she was a bright child, but due to her appearance, she was not given equal opportunity.  One day there was an inspection at her school as one of the State MLAs was visiting her school. All the children were standing in the school assembly to welcome the MLA. Savi was in 5th grade and she was also present in the assembly. But when Savi's teacher saw her, she was quite unhappy as her shirt collar was black with dirt and sweat and her skirt was pinned to hide the torn sides and her shoes were dusty and torn.  Considering Savi's condition, she was placed last in the row even though she was much shorter than the girls in front of her. This made Savi sad and disappointed, but she didn't give up. She made up her mind that one day she would claim the title of "Best Student". This was a title that was given every year by the school authorities to the most outstanding student. Savi was becoming more brilliant day by day. Now she was in 8th grade and had grown up a bit. She took part in many school activities, such as sports, dancing, debate, etc.  She was doing well. One day, Savi was going back to her home after school and suddenly it started raining. Savi didn't have an umbrella. She was all wet, water and mud entered through her torn shoes, making her socks muddy and dirty. And coincidently a man passing by who happened to be her neighbor. She was hopeful that this man would surely help her and would share his umbrella with her. But when he saw Savi and her terrible condition he laughed out loud and said "It seemed like you are coming straight out of a muddy paddy field". Look at you – "You Look Terrible". After saying these words, he just left, but this was also one of the things that made Savi strong, as she was not disheartened. She decided that a day would come when he had to praise her. With time, Savi started taking care of herself. She learned how to keep herself and her clothes clean even though the things that she had were old, but she knew how to keep them clean and arranged. By this time, her parent's condition was also improving. Now her mother had started her own tea shop which was bigger and better. But her father was not that much support as he was in his own world and her mother had to take all the responsibility.  Now she is in her 10th grade and in the life of a student, the result of their 10th grade decides their fate as to which stream they are going to land on and what their career options will be. Savi was trying with all her heart to get good marks in her examination. She spent the late night studying even though her sister Anu was not happy with this, as she was getting disturbed by her studies and the light that was striking her eyes when she tried to sleep. One day when Savi was studying as per her daily routine, Anu came shouting and said "You are disturbing my sleep, it's because of you I'm not able to take proper rest, you are pissing me off. " After saying these words, she switched off the light in anger and went to sleep.  Savi didn't have the chance to study during the day as her mother and sister were busy in the tea shop. She had to do all the household work, cooking, cleaning, washing, etc. But Savi had other plans. She went to the kitchen and found a small piece of a candle and lit it, and started studying. But this time she was careful that the light rays didn't fall on her sister's face, so she took a big cloth and tied it on one side and held it on the other side with her hand and kept the candle a bit far from her sister's sight and started studying.
