Everything changes - Jasper Whitlock

Jasper... The year was 1990. Alice, my pixie best friend told me to go out and hunt all she was feeling was complete excitement. I could tell the rest of the family knew something I didn't, but there was no getting it out of them. I decided to walk the streets home, instead of running through the woods. I was a few miles when I heard a cry, a baby cry. I listened to where it was coming from, and realised I could only hear one heartbeat. What the hell, they left their child alone? I don't know why but I had this strong urge to protect the child. I walked in to the house, realizing the door was unlocked. As I walked in to the house I had the shock of my life. The child's parents were on the floor dead. It looked they had been burgled, and shot while they tried to stop it. I went in to the child's room. When I saw her, I swear I felt my dead heart beat. It was then I realised what Alice and the rest of the family had been hiding from me, and why Alice basically pushed me out to hunt. The little child no older than 3 years old is my mate. I was about to pull out my phone when I heard six vampires running towards the house. I picked the child up and put her blanket over her head so she didn't have to see her parents, the way they were. I met the family outside, with the child in my arms. "Aww. Look how cute she is" Rose cooed once I took the blanket off of her head. "What are we supposed to do Carlisle? She's my mate, I can't stay away from her now" I asked him. "Well me and Emmett have been talking, when we found out what had happened. We would like to adopt her" Rose told me with nothing but hope in her voice. I had always known there was nothing more she would want then to become a mother. "Well I have to be at the hospital. Call the police; they will fetch the child to the hospital. I will check her over there and I will see what I can do for you Rose" Carlisle told us before heading back to the house before he headed to the hospital. "Can I hold her?" Rose asked, I didn't want to pass her over, but with Rose wanting to become her adopted mother, I couldn't deny her, I reluctantly hand her over to Rose. I felt Rose's emotions and she was throwing some serious protectiveness and motherly love. I felt the baby's emotions; we really need to figure out her name, she was nothing but content in Rose's arms. "What's your name little one?" Esme asked her. "B..Be..lla" Rose looked proud. "Well isn't that a lovely name" I notice Edward was on the phone talking to the authorities. Within 20 minutes Bella's parents bodies had been removed from the house, Rose still had Bella in her arms. "Which one of you found them?" An officer asked us. "Me sir" He looked at me a minute. "I'd like to ask you a few questions if that's ok" He asked me. With the nod of my head he started his interrogation. "How did you come to find them?" Well this is where my lying comes in. "I was walking around for a while on my own, when I heard a baby crying. I soon found out it was coming from the house, I was a little worried, because I had never heard a baby cry or should I say scream like that before. I looked through the window and saw them on the floor. I noticed the door was open so I went to check is the baby was ok. I called my family has I didn't know what to do; I've never been in this situation before. They told me they would get in touch with the authorities and they were on their way" I told him. He just nodded while writing it all down. "Ok would you hand her over the paramedics so we can have her checked out, and thank you for getting in touch with us" The officer told us before taking my Bella away. We all sat at home waiting and hoping to hear from Carlisle. We had been sat there for 30 minutes when the phone rang. Rose ran to it with all the vampire speed she had. "Carlisle?" She whispered with nothing but hope filling her emotions. "Would you and Emmett be able to come over to the hospital?" Carlisle asked her. "Of course" She hung up the phone and her and Emmett made their way to the hospital. I was sat with nothing but my thought of what had happened tonight. I had found my mate, in a horrible situation. My sister, hopefully will be adopting Bella, and bringing her home. Thankfully, I had my own little cottage I shared with Edward and Alice. I couldn't take the mated couples lust. Edward couldn't take hearing their thoughts, and Alice well she didn't want to be alone in the house with them, as her gift won't stop her from seeing things no matter how far she is, so hopefully that would stop arouse questions early than were ready for.
