Days flowed by like a relentless river, each one rushing past as if chased away by an invisible force since that passionate and rough session with Lorenzo after which he left.
In the days that followed, I buried myself in work at the new company the "government" had supposedly gifted me. But deep down, I knew the truth—it wasn’t the government. It was Lorenzo. I even pressed Claudia about it, hoping she would slip and confirm my suspicions. But each time, she smiled and insisted it was an official government grant.
