“Ashianna!” As my body rolled over onto the ground, I let out a painful groan. I crawled away from him, but he was too quick. s**t. Damn it! He was really getting on my nerves! He would feel bad about what he did to me, I swear. How dare he lay his fist on me? “Move! Ashianna! It seems that you’re getting weaker.” He hissed and swayed his sword. I turned around and ran in his direction. He was mocking me, like he always did to me. I plastered a grin on my lips when I noticed that he forgot to guard himself, which gave me easy access to kick his freaking balls. Damn! He winced in pain. And cupped his treasures as he collapsed on the ground. “Beta, it seems you’re getting older. You’re not even qualified for your position!” I took his sword and played with it easily. He grunted when I tossed his sword at him. He rolled in the opposite direction and gasped when the sword landed between his thighs. He swallowed hard and snarled at me. “You lose again!” I said. He sat on the ground and gave me a death glare. I knew that he wasn’t mad that I won him over. He was thinking about his pride, which I stepped on multiple times. He hardly breathed, and he stood up before he walked towards me. I was alert when I saw how he slowly moved his hand and gave me a punch that I quickly dodged. I jumped and kicked him in the back. I heard him groan in pain and keep complaining about his back. “You f*****g deserve it, asshole. How dare you try to deceive me? I won’t be the future Alpha for nothing.” I shouted in irritation, and he pouted his lips in response. I chuckled and moved towards him. “Fine, I accept that you’re a better fighter than me.” He uttered those words, but I could see that he didn’t like that he was telling me those words. I smacked his back and laughed. “Ashianna!” My eyes turned when I heard the Alpha calling me. His green, emerald eyes locked in my direction. He strolled in my direction, and he seemed severe. His pinkish lips were in a thin line. “Yes, what can I do for you, Alpha?” I asked. I kneeled on one knee and bowed at him. He placed his hand on my head, giving me a sign that he wanted me to stand up. My chest was pounding so fast that I felt that he had bad news for me. He sighed and looked away. “Alpha, what is it? I want to know why you came here, even though you are probably in your meeting with our alliance.” My face was stoic when he sighed several times. My eyes widened when I felt how my heart was clenching. I was sure that it wasn’t because of my mate because I still didn’t see him. “What happened to Arianna?” “She’s here,” he only replied. I gasped and ran so fast until I finally reached the house. It was strange that Arianna went back into our pack, especially since she begged our father to be the Luna of the cruelest Alpha in the world. My father disliked the idea, but Arianna was a rebellious and spoiled woman who wouldn’t accept his answer. She escaped our pack when she discovered that our father planned to get her mated with an unknown man. She hated him until we found out that she had become the candidate for the search for the future Luna of Alpha Yves Wolfgang. I couldn’t understand why she was desperate to be with him. I was certain that he might look like an older man who didn’t know how to wash his body every day. I scoffed at that thought and wanted to laugh so hard. “Ashianna!” Arianna yelled my name. I was astounded to see what she looked like. She had a lot of wounds in her face, and it seemed that she had a fight with someone. Arianna, my twin sister, didn’t know how to protect herself. “They hurt me, Ashianna!” She cried and kneeled in front of me. She hugged my legs. I bit my lip because I felt terrible for her. She didn’t deserve to be treated that way, especially since she was the daughter of an Alpha. Although being the daughter of an Alpha wasn’t her privilege, I knew that there were a lot of female Alphas who joined the contest that Alpha Yves had made. I was speechless when I saw how she cried. I wasn’t aware that my father was standing behind me, watching his other daughter cry. He gazed at me. “Please, Ashianna, help me. We are twin sisters. We look alike!” What made me more annoyed was when I found out why she went back to our pack. She wanted to win that competition, and she knew that I could win it. I didn’t like the idea because I didn’t want to become someone else Luna. I wanted to build my empire, and I made them see that a female Alpha could lead the pack. “You’re crazy! What makes you think that I will do what you ask? Arianna, you’re using me for your own gain. Damn it!” “Ashianna, please, help me with this one! You’re the only one that can save my face there.” “Did you do something stupid there? I don’t want to! It’s cheating!” “This is the last time I will ask a favor. I’m dying!” My body quivered after I heard what she was saying. She gulped as tears formed in her eyes. She was lying! I knew how conniving she was. My father wasn’t aware that she was crazy! “Yes, I’m dying. Are you happy to know that? Did you think that I liked you playing using my identity in Alpha Yves pack? I want to be with him until my last breath! Did you feel guilty that I’m going to die?” She shrieked as her lips trembled. It was obvious that she was mad at me because I didn’t like to cooperate with her plan. “Oh! Arianna!” I heard my mother cry, and I saw how she hugged her. She closed her eyes and continued begging me to do what she asked me to do. “Ashianna, do it. It’s not even a big deal!” I heard my father exclaim and touch his favorite daughter in front of me. I gasped in pain and felt the discomfort that I always felt whenever Arianna was with us in the pack. “I thought you loved your sister so much. She’s going to die, yet you didn’t do her last wish?” “I have the right not to accept it, Alpha.” I gritted my teeth in annoyance and turned my back on them. I heard my father grunt and tried to comfort Arianna when she made sure that I would hear how she wept. “Ashianna! If you do it, I will give you the throne after she successfully becomes Luna. She’s a great asset once she becomes the Luna of the most powerful Alpha in this world!” “Alpha Yves will kill me once he finds out that I’m not her. He might vanish our pack.” I spoke and tasted the bitterness on my tongue. I couldn’t believe that my father would sacrifice me and his pack members for the sake of his beloved daughter! “He will not discover that you aren’t Arianna, nobody knows that she has a twin. You have a lot of similarities! I want you to do what your sister wants you to do. We will go to the hospital to examine her. I know that you want to make sure that she’s telling you the truth, Ashianna.” His voice was tender, but it didn’t remove the feeling that I felt. It seemed that I would be disregarded as his daughter in his eyes once again. My father didn’t waste his time dragging Arianna into the pack hospital to ensure that she was telling us the truth. Glancing at the new pack doctor that my father had assigned, I couldn’t understand why I felt that there was something wrong with it. “She’s telling you all the truth. I saw that there was an unknown bacterium in her brain. "She needs to protect herself from the stress.” I heard what the pack doctor said. My mother shed tears while she was embracing her beloved daughter tightly, and my father gave me the glare that I didn’t have a choice but to accept Arianna's favor. It was my sister’s last wish. I didn’t have the power to make Alpha Yves choose her to be his Luna. It meant she needed to accept the results of the game once I cooperated. We might not be on good terms, but I didn’t want to lose her if her sickness was true. “Ashianna, please, just participate in the contest. They bullied me because I was too weak.” Arianna still didn’t stop her drama, causing me to feel the exhaustion linger in my body. The next day, it seemed that my parents had already forgotten about me. They were all focused on Arianna and did everything to sustain whatever she might need. I heard Uriel, my father’s Beta, scowl while he was watching how my father was trying to please my sister. “Are you sure that you want to do it? You still have a chance to back you,” he whispered while helping me fold Arianna’s clothes. Arianna suggested that I should use her bag. “I don’t have a choice, Uriel,” I tiredly answered him. I chose to leave the pack without their notice, and Uriel didn’t want me to do what my sister wanted. When he noticed that he couldn’t change my decision, he wanted to guard me from going to Alpha Yves’ castle, but I refused. I preferred to think while walking so I would know what I was going to do next. I would investigate everything clearly. Arrianna left our pack, and she was healthy at that time. There might be another reason why Arianna had unfamiliar bacteria in her brain. Aside from that, who would possibly hurt her? What was her reason? I guessed it might be Alpha Yves! He was an older man who wanted to have a young woman lined up for his bed. I heard he was a monster; he didn’t think twice of hurting and killing someone who went against him. It took me days to reach Alpha Yves’ castle. As I saw the entrance, my walk became slower when I saw the four guards rushing closer to me. Pausing at the moment, I noticed their severe and deadly stares; when seconds passed, a guard pushed me to the ground, causing me to be off-guard. “What the— get off of me!” I angrily snarled, resisting his hold, but he tightly held my hands, making me wince in pain as I felt a silver handcuff touching my skin. “Arianna, you break the law. How dare you leave this pack without the permission of the Alpha King?” he yelled, almost spitting his saliva. “N-No..” “You’re under arrest. You have the right to remain silent. Give her to Alpha Yves so he will order his punishment for this cunning woman!” Fuck. Arianna, what did you do this time?
