I strode into the club, The Iron, where I had high chances of finding my brother since he owned the place. He had opened it two years ago, and how much I hated to say it, the club was a famous place, people loved it, it was full almost every day and considering today was on a Saturday, I knew the place would get full faster than normal.
I strode straight for my brother’s office; I did not bother knocking on the door.
“What the hell?” he exclaimed shouting.
I scoffed looking at the scene in front of me. My brother stood, a busty blonde lady in the most revealing clothes a human can wear, kneeling in front of him, her head bobbing up and down. Once they saw me, they scrambled to fix themselves, the girl giving him a sloppy kiss before waltzing out of the office.
“Is this what you do in your free time?” I asked, still standing. I was not sitting on those seats; I didn’t know what kind of disease they had.
“What I do in my free time is none of your business,” He said with a snarl, walking to his chair behind the desk. I rolled my eyes. “What do you want?” he asked me.
I walked towards the wall on the right, leaning on it. “You knew what dad wanted to talk to me about.” I said it as a fact.
“I have no idea what you are on about.”
“Don’t play f*****g dumb with me.”
He looked at me and smirked. “So, what if I know?”
“Spill.” I gritted out.
He shook his head. “Not happening.”
My patience was thinning. He raised an eyebrow at me as if daring me and laughing in my face at the situation I was in.
I walked over to him and banged my palms on his desk.
“You think I am as dumb as you?” I asked.
“Get over it, dear sister, your time is up. You are going to get killed.”
The fact that he sounded so sure should have had me trembling in fear, but the only thing I felt was a curiosity so intense, it could eat me whole.
“I am giving you ten seconds to get it out.”
“Go f**k yourself.”
“I know about the child Elio.” I said, looking him straight in the eye. I saw exactly when realization dawned on him.
“How long did you think you could hide it? A whole ass human. What was his name again?” I put my finger on my chin, pretending to think about it. “Ah, yes! Daniel.” I snapped my fingers in mock realization.
“Does dad know?” I asked, pouting at him.
“You f*****g b***h!” He roared at me, coming straight at me. His fingers come around my neck, choking me.
“Tell me what I want to know. Or else I will tell dad, what do you think will happen?”
His hands were getting tighter around my neck; my air was being cut off. He roared and let me go, running his hands through his hair and pacing around.
I could feel bruises already forming.
“I don’t exactly know him.” He started. I massaged my neck, waiting for him to continue.
“The first time I had talk about him was when dad first adopted you. I don’t know much, but I am sure that dad is scared of him, the guy is powerful, dad said ‘out of this world’.”
That was not enough information. “His name, how he looks, c’mon give me more.” Frustration was bubbling.
“I do not know, but I know this for sure: you are a dead man walking. If the guy does not kill you first, and you kill him by some sort of miracle, father will kill you.” He said, gaze serious.
“How are you so sure of this?”
“The day before you came, father got a visitor, a tall guy, broad, with silver hair tied into a ponytail. I did not see his face, but power radiated from him, you could choke on it. After the meeting, I went to see dad, his eyes held so much fear, yet so much conviction. He told me things were about to change, and the next thing I knew, you arrived, the organization suddenly started growing more and more, becoming bigger than it had ever gotten. Do you think that’s just a coincidence? That the men we have, father just suddenly got better at the job?”
“You are assuming that this has something to do with my adoption?”
“I am not assuming, I would bet my life on it.” He said. “Whoever dad wants you to kill, he can end the Arlando legacy.”
I sighed; my thoughts were going crazy. I needed to think.
“Thank you for the information.” I said, heading for the door.
“Cyrina.” He called, stopping me. I looked to him. “How did you know about Daniel?”
“Fortunate accident, yearly background check for every Arlando member.” I stated. “Be careful, how long do you think you have till dad knows. It is none of my business.” I finished leaving him to his thoughts and walking out the door.
I would never hurt Elios' kid. It is not his fault that he was born to a shitty family.
The information that I had received gave me more questions than answers, and I had no idea where I could get answers from. I would have to wait to meet this mysterious stranger before I kill him. Maybe he would answer some of my questions, and just maybe I would not have to end his life.
