Cyrina was never truly claimed by the world that raised her.

An orphan taken in by a powerful family, she grows in their gilded silence_ fed, dressed, provided for _ yet never held with warmth. To them, she is a shadow of something inconvenient. To herself, she is something unfinished.

But belonging was never her story.

Somewhere beyond the reach of ordinary skies lies a realm where the sun and the moon trade place, where stars blaze like moonlight, and destiny is carved into blood and starlight.

When the past fractures open, Cyrina stumbles upon the family she never knew she had, and with them, a love that shakes her to her core and awakens something far greater than she ever imagined.

Yet awakening comes with a cost.

For in every corner of her return, some eyes remember what she is and forces that would rather see her fall. Secrets are buried in blood and light.

Cyrina must decide whether she will remain a forgotten echo or rise to become the queen she was born to be.

*** My eyes were hazy, my mind floating, making me feel as if I was on a cloud. Ecstasy. My head moved left to right, my hair blocking my view, shielding my eyes. I jumped up and down, moving to the rhythm of the music that was blasting in the cloud. Bodies pressed against me, the smell of alcohol and sweat heavy in the air, but who really cared? My hands moved from my hair down to my body, back to my hair. I had come alone to the club, not because I did not have friends, but because the adrenaline kept me going. I had already started feeling the effects of the shots of whiskey I had taken. I felt someone behind me pulling me up to their chest. I could feel the broadness of his chest. I threw my head back, laying my head down on him, his hands fell on my waist, moving up and down to my ass. With the help of alcohol, I ground my hips on his groin seductively, a groan came from him. I moved my hands to his neck and chest. "f**k, baby." he rasped. His head dipped in my neck marking my neck with hard kisses, I let out a moan, grinding more on him. His hands moved to my front, palming my breast and giving it a hard squeeze. I took a harsh breath. His hands roamed and finally went to the hem of my dress. He lifted it, his hands going straight to my heated, dripping core, I let out another moan, while he let out a groan of approval. The fact that we were in the middle of the dance floor did not cross my mind. I was in too deep, lust clouding my mind, want burning in my soul. My hand went to his groin, but he held them in place. The minute I felt his finger entering my heated core, I almost cummed right there. He did not go slow; I was simply a doll in his hands, and he could do whatever he wanted to me, and I would f*****g allow it. He thrust three fingers, going fast and hard. "Oh, my God." I breathed out. "Cum." he did not have to tell me twice; his raspy voice sent me to the edge, and an earth-shattering o****m blinded me. He held me in his arms until I stopped shaking. I made a move to turn my head, but he held me straight, he fixed my dress and pecked my neck as a goodbye, and the body heat left. I turned my head, but nobody was there. The loud music came flooding back into my ears, making me wince. I let out a harsh sigh, I was angry, sobered up, and horny. I knew my night was over. I maneuvered my way out of the club, and I let out a breath of relief when the cold air touched my skin. It was twelve in the morning, still early for a Friday night. I called an Uber, deciding that my night was over. It did not take me long to get to my apartment. I immediately plopped down on my coach, sleep invading my tired self, I was out in seconds. *** BANG! BANG! BANG! “What the f**k!” I whispered, groaning and sitting up on my couch. “Open up, you bitch.” Shouted the familiar voice of my brother. I stumbled to the door, unlocked it, and opened it. “Why don’t you just break the f*****g door open?” I snarled at him. He shoved his way inside my apartment. I rolled my eyes at him, shutting the door. “Why haven’t you been picking up the phone?” He sassed at me. I raised an eyebrow at him, headed to my kitchen for a much-needed coffee. “Dad needs you at the estate.” He started. I scoffed. “I wonder why that is.” I said heating the coffee pot. “There is an emergency that needs your attention.” he stated sitting on one of the stools at my kitchen counter. “And why can’t you not deal with it?” He hesitated to answer. I smirked and chuckled. “He doesn’t trust you? Does he?” His eyes hardened, his whole body tensing. “You are nothing.” He spoke. I broke out laughing, head thrown back, my whole body shaking with it. “Getting defensive, aren’t we big brother?” He banged his fist on my counter. “You think you are everything?” I shrugged, taking a sip of my coffee. He stepped up to me. “You are nothing but an orphan, a waste of space, to be abandoned and forgotten.” He seethed, stepping up to me. I clenched my jaw, annoyed. He smirked, knowing he had gotten under my skin. I turned my sharp gaze to him. “And yet daddy dearest sent you to fetch me, some people are otters, some people are rocks.” I said, emphasizing the you. I stood up, dumping half my coffee in the sink, my appetite ruined. I turned to him, “Why don’t you be a dear and fetch the f*****g car.” Before he could retort, I left the kitchen to go freshen up. Elio and I never really had a good relationship. He hated me because his father adopted me. Apparently, I took away his father’s love for him, and I hated him since he was and still is so dumb. He thinks his father adores me, since he gives me important s**t to deal with, and while that is true, the reason is not that he plans on handing me the organization. He can’t because he knows I will burn it to the ground. He just does, because I do my f*****g job well. Capius Arlando owns half of Welkins, in both legal and non-legal businesses and deals. Elio Arlando is his dumb as f**k firstborn son who was handed everything on a silver platter, pathetic. Maria Arlando was the treasured wife who died of an apparent car accident. They adopted me, since Maria had always wanted a daughter. You would think the family would treat me right since it was a dying wish, but how wrong. Capius might be smart, but he is the definition of s**t. I prepared myself fast, knowing that my father did not like to wait. I was curious as to why I had been summoned by the oh mighty king. I did not know the next mission I was about to be given would be life-changing in every sense possible.
