CHAPTER FOUR

Beta George heard the sound of something shattering as he stood outside waiting for the Alpha to open the door for him. He hurriedly took out the enamel pin on his suit, he picked the lock of the door and the handle clicked open. He rushed into the house, ran through the stairs, he traced the room where the Alpha’s sobs were coming from. He went inside and found him on the floor. He has seen his very good friend cry before but not like that. The glass on the floor had cut his palm and he was bleeding profusely. “ Stone, please calm down” He said gently but he couldn't hide the confusion in his voice. He rushed to get the first aid box, he used all his strength to pull him out of the floor, led him to the bedside table and helped him clean his wounds. He didn't say a word or ask him what went wrong. They had been childhood friends and he knew that his friend suffered great anxiety after his mother died in front of him when a car ran into their car, on their way to his school but he wondered silently, what might have triggered him. He helped him clean up the wound, led him to the bathroom to shower and then drove him back to back to the pack’s house. ************** Stone found Natasha’s address in the diary. One week after the night that they met, he went to Moon Pack to look for her. He drove through the lonely street, he was conversant with the road as he and the Alpha of Moon pack had met a few times after they pledged allegiance to each other to never attack each other’s territory. Stone is a very powerful and ruthless Alpha and every Alpha of the neighbouring Pack around his, wants to be on his good side, they bring gifts to him, invite him to their feast and do everything he wants them to do, just to make sure they don't offend him. After driving for hours, he got to a small flat that had a beautiful garden in front of it. The house was painted yellow, and on it was written the number 47. Natasha had described her father’s house on her dairy, she called it, “Her solace palace” He alighted from his black Prado jeep, shut the door, looked around and walked to the house that was in front of him. He knocked at the door and turned his back to face the road. Natasha had been indoors all week, she spent every single hour of her day, watching different series, and the only time, she wasn't seeing a movie was when she was bathing. She knew that that was not the best way to deal with hurt but she wasn't ready to go through the pain and regret she had piled up in her chest. She managed to clean up the house that morning, took her bath and prepared food for herself. She sat in front of her mirror, she saw her sorrowful eyes and felt pity for herself. A friend had texted her some days with an image of the wedding invitation card between Sam and Willow. “You are going to heal,” she reassured herself as she stared at her reflection in the mirror and just then, she heard a knock on the door. She hesitated to go check who was knocking because she wasn't expecting anybody and that was the first time anyone would be knocking on her door since the day she got back from her nightclub escapades. She grabbed one of her favourite simple gowns and put it on, then she walked to the door. She opened the door and she froze when she saw Stone turn to face her fully. He wore a white clean suit, he had the same fragrance he had the night they spent together. She couldn't help but notice his blue eyes, as they danced in hers. His hands were in his pockets and he rocked back on his feet. She stood and stared at him, speechless, she didn't know why he had come to look for her. “Hello” he said as his eyes glistened, he smiled shortly and she couldn't help but notice his perfect dentition. He raised a finger to his face and went back to his car, to pick up the dairy “You left this” Natasha didn't even realise that she didn't have her precious diary with her. She didn't write any secrets in her diary, so she wasn't bothered that he had it, she was just concerned about the only picture of her father in the diary. She can't afford to lose it. She grabbed the dairy from his hands and went through it, hurriedly. “Is this what you are looking for?” he asked as he brought out a picture from his pocket. She rushed to take it from him. “Easy now, madame” he teased her with his voice, “won't you invite me inside” “Come in” She shifted and gave way for him to enter when she realized that she had been standing at the door all the time that they were talking. He entered the small living room, it was clean and smelled of jasmine and lime. There was only one 3-seater cushion in the living room, so he sat at one side of the cushion and she came to join him. “How did you find me, did you read my diary” she asked and her eyes furrowed. “Just five pages” he said defensively “but when I saw this picture in it, I thought to return it to you, you took the dairy to the club, so I guess it is important to you” He explained calmly, his eyes fixated on hers. “Thank you so much,” she said, as she rubbed her hands on the cover of the dairy, “my father gave it to me on my 10 year birthday” Her voice was sad “It was the last birthday I celebrated with him” she had a sad smile on her lips. She pointed at his hands “And that picture in your hand is the only picture of him that I have.” His eyes flew open in shock, his hands started trembling again and he dropped the picture on the floor. He got up “Where is your bathroom” he asked immediately. She pointed in the direction with furrowed brows but just before she could utter a word He pushed past her and dashed his way into the small door which could barely take up his height. “What is wrong with him” she muttered, with her hands akimbo.
