Lesson One

1012 Words
Amanda P.O.V Time is standing still as I gaze into his memorising I almost don't want to pull away. 'Ah. Stop. Stop it.'I let go of his hand and look anywhere but him, afraid and embarrassed at my concern for him, 'Stupid Wolf Thing.' "Let me-Let me help you." I walk past him towards the stove, aware of what he's trying to do, without sparing him a glance. Damian P.O.V I can't help but smile at her as she has her back turned. 'Her blush was so cute, as her sexy figure walks over. I can't help but want to, no eyes on the prize.' "Mark her. Mark mate now!" "Not happening Jax." "Do it!" "Focus Jax she's not staying forever." "You don't really think that." "Yes I do! You don't know what you're talking about." After Jax's further ranting I block him out, and stare at the hand Amanda touched. "That's right she's only a toy, nothing more." I tell myself repeatedly. "Are you going to cook or what?" Amanda's soft voice breaks me out of my thoughts. I really like that sharp tongue of hers, and nobody else really knows this, I plaster a smile on my face as I look in her direction. "Coming sweetie." ''Yes. Temporary." "Shut up Jax!" Amanda P.O.V I help him cook the meal and we finally sit down to lunch, at the island in the kitchen. As I take the time to eat he glance at him and wonder what he thinks of the food, after I somehow managed to cook the majority of it. 'Why do I care?' I glance back down at the food and continue to eat. "This is good love. Where did you learn to cook?" "Oh. Mum and Dad have a busy work schedule, so I had to do the cooking from time to time, and my younger sister always wanted to help me." I smile at the thought of her mucking about the kitchen. "Tell me about your sister." I'm surprised that he wants to know but I'm more than happy to oblige. "Jenna is a rough nut that couldn't take no for an answer. She has this puppy dog look that just makes you melt, and an innocence about her that's to good for this world." In my moment of nostalgia Damian comes around the island and leans down close to me. I flinch back but not so far otherwise I will fall. He leans down and cups my cheek while looking me in the eyes as he runs his thumb on my cheek drying a tear that I didn't know I had. He leans down and gently leaves a lingering kiss on my forehead, and to my surprise I don't stop him. Just then he pulls back and looks directly back into my eyes and whispers. "Don't cry." He walks out but stops under the door frame and turns to face me. "Back to work." I nod my head and follow behind as we head back to his office. "Damian!" Damian and I stop in our tracks as Laura starts running over. She stops right in front of us and grabs my arm. "Mind if I borrow your mate for while." "What for?" "A shopping trip." "No." 'Damian's reply was quick, but I can't say I blame him, after all I did run away last time, wait whom I kidding I had every right to run from my captor.' I gaze towards Laura and she smiles and winks at me, mischievously. "What's the matter big bro. You don't trust me with your mate." She breaks into tears and Damian is left startled. I guess Damian does have a weakness after all. "Calm down Laura. Amanda has some office work with me to do." The tears on Laura's face continue to fall. "I just want to spend some girl time with her, can't you let her off for a couple hours each day so we can hang out." 'Damn she's good I almost believe her.' Laura let's go of me and clings onto Damian. "Come on big bro, pleeeeease." "Oh. Alright. Do what you want, but have her back here by dinner time." "Thanks big bro your the best." She smiles and let's go her brother and links her arm in mine and pulls me along with her. Once we're out of the house we burst out laughing. "How did you that?"  I ask her inbetween laughs  "When you've lived with him as long as I have, you learn a thing or to." "You have to teach me that." "Yes but first let's go to a very special spot for your first fighting lesson." 'Fighting lesson?' "But you told your brother..." "That we were going to shop, yes well. If I had told him the truth he never would have allowed it." I nod my in response. 'She has a good point.' "Now that that's settled there's a secret place I'd like to take you." I follow behind gladly, anything to have some time to think.   ******* 'We've been walking for twenty minutes. How far are we going?' "Climb through here."  She disappears into the bushes and I follow close behind, emerging from the bushes I found an open green field overlooking an area with a huge waterfall pouring from above. I look at this in wonder. "It's beautiful." "Yes, and nobody knows about it. It's a perfect escape from everyday life." I look back towards Laura as she speaks. "It's a special area that only Luna's and those with Alpha blood can approach." Laura's expression saddens as she continues. "My Father created this for my Mother so they could be alone. This place has a wall of trees around us, so it's safe." I stay silent as look at her with sadness. I may not know the pain of a death in my family but I know what it's like to be apart from them. I tear up at the thought. "No one else knows about it, not even Damian. So. Let's get started." For the next few hours Laura spends time teaching me how to dodge an enemy's attack and how to outwit your opponent, before we know it, night falls. "That's enough for today. Damian is screaming in my head, and if don't get back soon he may have a stroke." "Can't have that can we?" "Ha Ha. No we can't." We walk back through the small space and walk back to the pack house, where Damian is waiting for us.
