Aubrielle: "Welcome, Students!" The Secretary shouted into the megaphone. "We would like to welcome you to the Hybrid Academy! My name is Mrs. Stocks and I am going to be giving you guys a grand tour of our school! You will get to meet some of the teachers throughout the tour! So, let's get started!" Ace and I followed behind Lucias, Jaiden and our other cousins. As we walked, I could hear the soft whispers from the people around us. Why is a mortal with us? I thought this was a hybrid school?... Ace put his arm around me and pressed his head against mine. "My dear cousin, you need to ignore people around you." He whispered. "It's hard." I told him. One of the girls there bumped into me as she tried to make it up close to the Secretary. When I looked at her, she turned and scrunched up her face as if I was disgusting to her. "Mortals shouldn't be allowed to come to this school!" Another girl shouted. "Why don't you mind your business?!" Ace defended. "No fighting, please!" The Secretary shouted at us. Hell, they started it. Ace kept staring at the girls in front of them. One of the girls turned and looked at him. The two of them were staring at each other for the longest time before I nudged him. He turned to me and I shook my head at him. She wasn't the one that I heard, but still. She was hanging out with them like they were the best of friends. "Look, she's pretty, but I'm not looking to date her."Ace whispered to me. I stared at him and I swear I saw his eyes switch back and forth. I rolled my eyes and removed his arm from around me. "Don't do that." He whispered. "I just said she's pretty." "Yeah, she's so pretty that you double looked." I sighed. "I swear this school year is going to suck major ass." Ace chuckled. "I can't look?" He asked. "Yeah, you can, but nothing more Ace." Ace nudged me and I gave him a small smile before we went back to listening to the Secretary. That tour took more than an hour due to the quantity of the staffs and the rooms. "Okay, Students!" Mrs. Stocks shouted. "Now, you guys will go to your rooms and get to know your roommate. Then, once you settle in, follow the instructions on your phone. This week is a vacation week, so go ahead and hang out." All the students departed. Good thing we didn't need a key for our room. We only had our fingerprints to go off of. My room was 133, so I headed over there. "Come to my room later, okay?" Ace said. "It's 100." He walked off and I headed over to the stairs. I ran up a couple flights, then I walked to the area where my room was. Once I got to my room, I pressed my index finger to lock in my prints, then I pushed the door open. When I looked up, I noticed my bags were on the bed with someone else's bag. "You're here." A female voice replied as I walked over to my things. My roommate came out of the bathroom and my eyes widened when I recognized her, immediately. She was with the girl who I was arguing with. She sat on the bed and we just stared at each other. "I'm Asia." She introduced herself. I just stared at her. How was I supposed to introduce myself to her and she hangs out with my enemies? "Um..." I said. "It's okay." Asia told me. "I understand. My friends were out of line for talking about you." She was different than those girls from before. She always gave me a small smile and she wasn't an asshole on the first meet. "What are you?" I asked her. "You can't tell?" She chuckled. I shook my head and she stood up, headed towards me. She was a lot shorter than I thought she was as she got closer. "I'm a wolf." She told me. "However, I'm the shortest of the pack. The Omega member of the pack." "Are you weak?" "Kind of. I'm not as strong as I should be." "Don't worry; you will be." She smiled at me and looked around. "Can I know your name?" I asked her. "Aubrielle." I told her. "But, my family calls me Aubri." "Aubri, I like that. It's cute." I hated the name. It was like they couldn't come up with anything better. "Well, Aubri, I need to cut this conversation short." She walked past me and began looking through her bags. "What's going on?" I asked her. "The Bonfire is tonight. Everybody is going to it." Everybody, except me. Sighing, I walked over to my side of the room and took a seat on the bed. I pushed my suitcases over before I took my phone out and checked the missed calls. Mother had been blowing my phone up since I had been on that long ass plane ride. Rolling my eyes, I decided to give her a call back. The dial tone rang a couple times before my mother answered her phone. "You had me worried." She said into the phone. "I'm here and I'm fine." I told her. "How is the school?" "...It's okay." "And your cousins? How are they to you? Did you get to talk to some of them?" I sighed. "...Yeah." "Uh oh. What's wrong?" "...Nothing, mom. I'm fine, okay?" I looked up at Asia who took her things into the bathroom. As she was getting ready, I decided to tell my mom what was really going on. "I have a roommate." I told her. "Is she nice?" "She's cool, but, she hangs with a bunch of girls who hate me." "What do you mean?" "Um, the girls that don't like me had a lot more to say to me if Ace didn't step in." "I'm happy you and Ace are close." "Yeah, but I feel I might lose him soon." "Why?" "I think him and Asia might start talking. They were already making eye contact at each other during the grand tour." Mom chuckled. "Honey, you can't stop your cousin from finding a girlfriend at the school." "...I know. I just.... That's my best friend and the only one at that. I don't want to lose him." Hell, I didn't. As soon as I said that, a knock came on the door. Sighing, I got up and walked to the bedroom door. Opening it, Ace was standing there with Jaiden. "Are you not going?" Ace asked me. "Why?" I asked him. "I wasn't invited to go." I moved away from the door and walked over to the couch. Jaiden closed the door and looked around the room. "Why is the girls' room so different than ours?" He asked Ace. "Ha, I don't know." Ace and Jaiden were looking very good. They were ready to go to the bonfire. Ace had his curls that went down to his shoulders while Jaiden had his little fade going on. Another knock came on the door and I sighed. "I got it." Ace said as he got up to go. "Mom, I have to go." I said into the phone. "We'll talk later." "Okay and go have fun." "I'll see. I love you and goodbye." I hung up and placed my phone on the nightstand beside the couch. Lucias walked into the room and took a seat on the bed as well with Lucias and Jaiden. "Why are we here?" Lucias asked. "Trying to get her to go." Ace told him. "If she don't want to go, she doesn't have to. Let her be a bore." "Wow, really?" I smacked my lips at him. "Go be an ass somewhere else." "Whatever." Lucias rolled his eyes. The bathroom door opened up and Asia walked out. She was looking cute with a pink dress and small pink jacket to go with it. The dress hugged her thighs like a glove and the pink Uggz that she had on with it, completed the outfit. She went to grab something from her bag until she looked up and saw my cousins in the room. "When did they get here?" She asked me. "Just now." I told her. "Asia, these are my cousins, Ace, Lucias and Jaiden. There is more, but I don't talk to them really, so you'll only see me with these three." Asia smiled and waved before she pushed her long curls to the back. Then looked back at me. "Why don't you want to go?" Asia asked me. "I don't really have anything to wear, except for sweats and other things." "Nothing cute, you mean?" She asked me. "I have something for you." "No, it's okay." I told her, shaking my head. "Go." Ace told me. I looked at him and sighed. Then, I got up and walked over to Asia. "Is it okay if it's a dress?" Asia asked me. I nodded and she handed me a whole outfit. "Take a shower and get dressed." I walked back to the bed and picked my bag up before I took it with me into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me. *** "Are you done?" Asia asked me as she knocked on the door. I finished my hair with my curling iron and looked at myself in the mirror. The dress was perfect for my thick figure, which was embarrassing to me since I never showed anybody that I had curves. Something, I didn't want my parents to know, either. "Aubri, let's go!" Ace shouted from the other side of the door. Sighing, I turned and walked over to the bathroom door and unlocked it. Asia walked in and her eyes widened when she saw me. "You were hiding all of that behind those baggy ass clothes?" She asked me. "You need to get slapped." I covered myself and looked down. "Come on." Asia told me. She pointed out the bathroom and I walked over to the door. Lucias, Ace and Jaiden were still there. Asia walked out and I followed behind her. "Here she is." Asia told them. When their eyes landed on me, I've never felt weird before. "Look at you." Ace chuckled. "You look amazing." "I feel gross." I told him. He got up and hugged me. Jaiden whistled before he turned to Lucias. "She looks just like her mom, huh?" He asked him. "Her mom is better." Lucias stated. Asia clapped her hands together and walked to the door. "Let's go!" Asia shouted. I grabbed my phone and I followed Asia and my cousins out of the room.
